If you want to fix your SAMSUNG TV that was made with poor quality electrolytic capacitors (researched all online), like mine then buy this and buy the DESOLDERING BRAID. The whole thing took 3 hours, including driving to the store, taking apart the TV, etc. Anyways, this kit has almost everything you need besides the desoldering braid and capacitors themselves. If you are in a hurry you can buy a higher wattage soldering iron.

I fixed my LCD monitor, by replacing the capacitors, and this soldering iron came with everything I needed to get started. Especially because this was my first job. The man at the store advised me to this one and said it is a great starter, and good for small jobs.

I got this iron a few years ago for my birthday and at the time, knew nothing about soldering... And never tinned it, just jumped right in. Now I just ran out of th solder it came with. I really like it, it is quite forgiving for beginners, and has yet to fail me. Yes, it takes quite a while to warm up, but after that its fine.

I got this kit for my birthday about a year ago, I liked it a lot at the time, but as I went on with larger projects... I realized that something was missing, and was at first under the impression that all soldering irons were a hassle. But, as I used it more, I found that it was the quality of this iron, not all irons. It is great for beginners, but that is about it's limit.

Needed a replacement solder iron - old one did not have replacable tips... had the 15W/30W dual iron in my hand but also needed clippers. This kit came with a 30W and the same removable tip plus everything else and a nice case to keep it all in for only $6-$8 more. The nicer pair of clips I was looking at was $6 alone. I don't think the screwdrivers are of any quality but I wasn't buying this set for those. Although I did have to plug it in for 10 minutes the first time and then shut it down (kids) before I could 'tin' the tip. Heated it up later and found the tip had already oxidized such that parts of it wouldn't accept solder but was still able to solder the makershed shield for the arduino - about 40 different PCB solder joints. Once I got it figured out the rest of my joints were perfect. Almost bought the Aoyue 937+ online but wanted something this weekend. Also considered the RS $79 digital model but I figure if soldering more often in my future is for me, I'll get a better one then. But for now this one works great for me! I do imagine I'll have to replace the tip next time or in a few more uses. Atleast they have them at the store!

The item is fully insulated from a wire conection standpoint but typically not fully covered (male-female conection)because of low voltage uses.

Great kit for the price, there is nothing wrong with the collection of tools. Exactly what is needed in a small case.

Do NOT waste your time with desoldering braid. Very very easy.

I cant do 1 solder before I have to wait for it to heat back up
