I was surprised to hear of difficulty soldering this wire. I picked up each type at my local store, standard stock item. I had no difficulty soldering and tinning this wire with 63% Sn and 37% Pb, Rosin core solder.

I bought this 30 gauge wire years ago to replace a trace on a PCB. It worked perfectly, very easy to use and strip with the wire wrap tool. But recently I've been using it to wire an EPROM to a PCB so I've been using a lot more of it. Naturally I had to pick up more. Since they stopped carrying products like this in the stores, I was forced to buy it online.

I was VERY mad when it came in. I noticed right away the color was a little different, the insulation also felt like a different material. Then I find out that the wire will NOT take to solder. That's right, it *refuses* to hold to solder. Now what the heck am I suppose to do with 150' of useless wire? I might use it as string or something.

I Use this Wire most When doing neat circuits , because it can be hidden in the reverse of the board ,buy it along with the stripping tool and your done
