Cons Best Uses Comments about RadioShack TIP42G PNP Transistors: My Panasonic high end 2 line phone lost all audio. I found the PNP power amp transistor shorted. Looked at Radio Shack and found the TIP42, soldered it in place and now everything is cool.

Cons Best Uses Comments about RadioShack TIP42G PNP Transistors: I've never seen a transistor take so much abuse. I thought I thought I fried it several times, but the smoke was coming from the melying plastic on my breadboard. I've shorted it, and operated it at well over 150 C, but never had a problem (except burning my fingers). It's an unbelievably great transistor. Pros
