          • Tr41 Am Sw In Cobra Cbs

Comments about RadioShack TIP3055 NPN Transistor:

If you ever lose the AM switch 2SC1419 on a Cobra AM/SSB 142/148/2000GTL family chassis, this is the cheapest and best replacement for TR41 that we've found. Symptom would be SSB works fine, but AM won't change to TX mode. We've never had one of these replacements fail at stock level power in over 30 years of abusive use. Basically a one-time-fix.

Comments about RadioShack TIP3055 NPN Transistor:

I bought two of these(one as a backup) to use in a fluorescent lamp inverter. Since you will likely need this in a high power application, a heat sink may needed.

A few things to note on this product:
First, incorrectly labeled, it's really a MJE3055T however I already was aware of it.

Second, do NOT believe the ratings on this page as nearly all of them are incorrect.
It's correct max ratings are: I(C) of 10A, and Power Dissipation of 75Watts.

Google "MJE3055T" to find the correct data sheet.

Comments about RadioShack TIP3055 NPN Transistor:

The transistor works fine, but its NOT a TIP3055... its a MJE3055, which is rated at 75W not 90W.
