Very good timer but my local franchise store doesnt keep these in stock, all i can say its there loss, only bad part of geting online is the exra cost of shipping :o(

With two resistors and a capacitor, this timer makes a simple and efficient low speed clock. Great for testing A/D converters. Because it's a CMOS part, it is compatible with +3.3V supplies.

Very good multipurpose chip. Texas Instruments makes a great 555 timer IC. Motorola's MC1455 is the ONLY better chip on the open-market. I will keep on getting these in the future.

I use these chips in
1. Siren oscillator.
2. Astable timer (for Attack mode)
3. One-shot stable timer (for alert)
4. LED flasher
5. Tone generator (see siren note above)
6. DC-AC inverter (yes it is possible to use one, in conjunction with a MOSFeT and a 2N3055, as well as about a dozen other [common] parts to invert DC to AC)

can be used as a replacement for the LM555 as they are pin compatible, This has lower power requirements then other 555 timers. This IC is made by TI. Used it in a astable circuit, and is on the dot accurate. Used 5% tolerance resistors and a Tantalum capacitor (272-1434) for the timing circuit.
