My package of NPNs were exactly as advertised on the website and exactly as marked on the package. I checked the labelling of each transistor and got exactly what I expected. I have used only one from the package in a low-demand, very simple circuit, but it works exactly as expected.
Pros Cons Best Uses Comments about RadioShack® NPN Transistors (15-Pack): I picked up a 15 transistor pack today, and for some reason went to the web site and read these other reviews. Sure enough - got my magnifying glass out and none of the expected NPN types were in there - all PNP's! The store is not far, but I should not have to go back to correct a [$] item. Annoying.
Pros Cons Best Uses Comments about RadioShack® NPN Transistors (15-Pack): Picked up the multipack to save some coin and ended up with 2N2907 (PNP) instead of the listed 2N2222 (NPN). I local purchased to support the store but will consider online purchases in the future. Others have had the same issue. RS needs to pay attention to the little thing and fix these type of problems.
Pros Cons Best Uses Comments about RadioShack® NPN Transistors (15-Pack): I am sick and tired of getting products that are labelled differently on the packaging. No I can't bring a reading glass and read thru the packages, the tiny printing on the transisitors,

Comments about RadioShack® NPN Transistors (15-Pack): Double check the pin out that's listed on the package. It was listed the opposite of what it was and cost me extra time to trouble shoot the device that I made. Otherwise the variety and quantity of each type of transistor was correct. I used the 2N3904 type to build a NPN Fuzz Face clone. After de-soldering and re-installing the transistors, due to the mislabeled pkg., the pedal works fine and sounds surprisingly excellent. I initially planned on using some NOS BC108's or BC109's like the original Silicon Fuzz Face of the late 60's, but will leave these in and build another for comparison. The next pedal will have sockets for the transistor's and I'll try the 2N2222A's and 2N4401's that were included in the package as well.
Pros Cons Best Uses Comments about RadioShack® NPN Transistors (15-Pack): this product is not good to buy unless your willing to open the bag in the store and look at each one i got bag of these and not a single one was an npn all were pnps total rip off
Pros
Cons Best Uses Comments about RadioShack® NPN Transistors (15-Pack): Unlike the PNP transistor pack, this one tells it like it is. You get 5x2222, 5x3904 and 5x4401 transistors. It says accurately on the bag and also on the web site. But - and this is a big one, be sure to down load your own data sheets and double check the pin out diagrams to be sure you have it right. Obviously, these are surplus and bargain units so you need to do your home work. They are quality parts, no doubt. But, they can have some surprises if you are not careful.

Comments about RadioShack® NPN Transistors (15-Pack): 40 years as a technician doing component level troubleshooting and repair. I have used Radio Shack, or Allied as I believe it once was, off and on the entire time. I do recommend RS but I also recommend people be more careful in reading the label. You get what you pick and as far as I am concerned the store is not responsible if you mistake the label. Good general purpose NPN small signal transistors, used as preamp, switching and discreet flip flops, relay driver, LED driver..... among many other uses.

Comments about RadioShack® NPN Transistors (15-Pack): PACKAGE AND WEB description did NOT match product in bag. You might get what the bag says is in it you might not. I suggest checking the contents of the package before you leave the store. To be fair the second package was correct.
Pros Cons Best Uses Comments about RadioShack® NPN Transistors (15-Pack): The bag says NPN-Type Switching Transistors but when I opened I found I had PNP.
