Got this to replace burned out bulbs on Dash Instrument Cluster. Gives sufficient lighting without blinding you (like the 5000mcd). The package does list the full specs:

5mm
1.5 mcd
12V DC
20 mA
Internal Resistor
697 typ wavelength
36 Viewing Angle

I do think Radio Shack should give more complete specs online. But them offering reviews (like this one) helps fill folks in.

Good little LED. Serves the purpose.

How can I pick the correct item if there are no specs Voltage Current etc to size it correctly?
Radio Shack may have the money to afford a trial and error process.. but I don't. Maybe DigiKey has better documentation.

Radio Shack DOES publish the mcd brightness levels. Not everyone wants to be blinded when looking at their computer. The current crop of superbright blue led's are more like flashlights than indicators. When I turn the lights out in a room, I want it to get DARK. This led is perfect for people who like more subdued indicators on their equipment.

LED was way too dim. Radio Schack should publish the mcd spec because i thought it would be much brighter for the price. LEDs of similar price elsewhere are in the 3000-4000 mcd range which is thousands of times brighter than this LED.
