Comments about RadioShack 8-Position DIP Switch:

This is a horribly made piece of junk. Pins break off at the slightest provocation. This hunk o' junk almost wrecked my project. I had to manually wire something instead of using these switches.

Comments about RadioShack 8-Position DIP Switch:

Pins are very fragile and broke after pretinning. Apparently the heat from pretinning makes them more fragile. Never got to install into project, pins broke on breadboard before full install. From testing after utilizing the rest of the pins, showed very uncharacteristic signal strength through practical use when running the switches.
WOULD NOT RECOMMEND FOR HEAVY USES or LONG TERM INSTALLATIONS!

Comments about RadioShack 8-Position DIP Switch:

Holy cow! The pins SNAPPED off so easily. One of the pins were slightly bent when i took it out of the box, so I tried to bend it back into place, GENTLY I might add, and it snapped off. the pins are very flimsy and cheap. if you try to force it onto a board, it will snap. I am not using it on a PCB. I will be getting a new one elsewhere, the pins are horrible.

          Mediocre Switch

Comments about RadioShack 8-Position DIP Switch:

The device itself is very flimsy and will easily rock back and forth in a breadboard. In addition to this annoyance, I found that as time went on (weeks at the most) the signals could not be guaranteed and had to be continuously pressed in a given state (I used toothpicks for this) to maintain the output. I do not recommend this product and would only buy this in desperation.

Comments about RadioShack 8-Position DIP Switch:

I used it to replace a failed Rev Limiter Switch in the Mallory Hyfire IVc Ignition box on my drag race car. It is subjected to brutal vibration, heat, cold, humidity, electrical spikes. Has held up very well over the past year, I need another one for the other switch bank which is now failing. Only bad thing was the housing/body is wider than the OEM switch, so I had to cut a larger opening in the plastic switch overlay panel. Well worth the price!

Piece of trash, I've been working with electronics for years and I've never seen any pins so flimsy. I barely bent them to make them fit where needed and 3 instantly snapped off. Wouldn't recommend this at all!
