While the front of the switch and internal spring/contact action seem to be good quality, the rear of the switch fails quite easily.

The solder terminals loosen for some reason and the plastic screw cap on the rear of the switch that holds the spring and contacts is very brittle and cracks apart. I have had several of these switches come out of the packaging with loose solder terminals.

If you can't use a better switch and HAVE to use this one, have the salesperson open it and let you check the terminals for looseness. If there is ANY looseness, it WILL fail.

I hope RS finds a solution to this issue because it is a nice looking switch. They will probably just discontinue it and replace it with a cellphone.

The rear, plastic housing, screws together, but, the "screw-joint" fails easily and "separates". In addition, the terminals at the rear easily disengage/pull out, separate from housing... I use these to make a "winch switch" product I sell, but, i have to Gorilla Glue the back housing to obtain a more reliable joint.

The failure rate of these things has been 10%-20% based on the purchase of over 200 (100-pair packs)units.

The manufacture of this switch needs to be of higher, more durable quality even if it means a slight increase in the per unit cost.

I continue to use these, because I reinforce the housing with Gorilla Glue. If a switch was available, that looked identical, but, was of a higher quality I'd no longer purchase these...and I'm looking...

i tried two of these as a circuit interrupter and the button would seperate right at the housing. not worth your time to hook up.

Bought these switches after using a lower quality switch that wore very easily. This set has very strong spring components and a general feel of high quality. When wiring in a push button start on a vehicle, you need something dependable or you may find yourself stranded. I trust the quality of this component and can find nothing negative to say.

Used this for a Model Rocket launch controller which was rarely used (2-3 times before it broke). The action was a bit heavy (aka. hard to press down).

Nicely replaced switches in guitar amp footswitch box. Would be perfect if it were all metal construction, but you can't beat 2 switches for[$].
