Cons Best Uses Comments about RadioShack Gold Series 3/32" Stereo Plug: This is a fine little plug, you just need to be careful soldering to it. A fat-tipped iron won't cut it, you'll need a fine-point temperature-controlled soldering iron and fine gauge solder. If you have that, and a bit of skill, it's no problem.
Pros
Cons Best Uses Comments about RadioShack Gold Series 3/32" Stereo Plug: Very poor design. Not woth messing with.

Comments about RadioShack Gold Series 3/32" Stereo Plug: on that connector 3/32 phone jack no info on which channel is to be used for mic left is mic right is for speaker on xbox 360 and that seems to be standerd for phones too

Best Uses Comments about RadioShack Gold Series 3/32" Stereo Plug: I was a little anxious getting this plug considering the poor reviews and some of the claims that it is difficult/impossible to solder onto it. I have very little experience with soldering and I was able to make a good connection on the first try using a cheap iron. I think the secret is to use a fine tip and fairly small gauge wire (I used 26 AWG). Also the connection diagram in Phrasz' review below is incorrect. The top soldering post is the ring, then the tip, then the ground (I learned it the hard way!)
Pros Cons
Best Uses Comments about RadioShack Gold Series 3/32" Stereo Plug: I used this to replace the connector on my broken xbox 360 headset but once I properly connected all the cables it just made a loud fuzzy sound instead of my voice
Comments about RadioShack Gold Series 3/32" Stereo Plug: With all due respect to those that DIDN'T have a problem with this--I've built hundreds of wires and found this to be nearly impossible. No tabs to solder to, and with any decent quality cable of more than a couple of strands, there's simply NO room to stick it on, or to route the wire. Pros

Comments about RadioShack Gold Series 3/32" Stereo Plug: You must be a "pro" solderer to solder these. Use magnification. Don't stay on the terminal very long (hot and fast). Use a tip that fits the terminal. Stop complaining if you don't know how to solder.

Best Uses Comments about RadioShack Gold Series 3/32" Stereo Plug: Planed to use it in an amateur radio APRS connection. Wound up contributing it to a land fill.

Best Uses Comments about RadioShack Gold Series 3/32" Stereo Plug: The past reviews show that all of the so-called men are now little girls that can't do anything for themselves. They probably can't even change the oil in their cars. There is nothing wrong with connector. Yes it's small, but you have to solder it with the right tools if you are not experienced at soldering. In other words if all you have is one of those lousy 1000w soldering guns, your hands to hold it with, and limited electrical experience then you will probably be upset. You need a REAL soldering iron with interchangeable tips (if you are not experienced), a settable heat setting for the iron so you don't roast the connector, and to hold it; a simple pair of forceps. The forceps will also help with heat transfer.
