Comments about RadioShack 80dB Chime: Usually add plastic box to hold it. Connect it to a 9v battery and n.o. magnetic switch for an excellent access notifier. Loud enough for most environments. Chime sound gets attention. Low voltage range allows for several power sources. Now the bad stuff. It never will be a $50 chime for [$]...

Best Uses Comments about RadioShack 80dB Chime: These are great for anything you don't have to rely on it working. I install them on the custom gas detectors and chromatographs I build for the oilfield drilling rigs. They are pretty cheap compared to other chimes on the market but much less reliable. I am still trying to find a good replacement but most out there are in the 30 to 50 dollar range. I replace them so often it is almost debatable just to spend the money though.

Comments about RadioShack 80dB Chime: These are GREAT devices. For years I have used them on my cars, trucks, and motorhome. My turn signals are not equipped with a sounder, so very frequently I forget they are still on when I make shallow turns such as getting onto the Interstate or passing another vehicle. These little chimes remind me to turn off the signals.
Pros
Cons Best Uses Comments about RadioShack 80dB Chime: The chimes work great when they work, but I have had to replace them quite often afte I first install them. I use 2 per store and will replace at least one per store shortly after the install. That is a %50 increase on product alone, before the labor cost and fuel. Too much money for an unreliable product when I have stores up to 3hrs away. I am looking for an alternative chime. Displaying reviews 1-5 |
