Comments about RadioShack 108dB Piezo Buzzer:

I connected of these to a 9-volt battery, then promptly jumped out of my skin!

For such a surprisingly loud siren, the size isn't too big or small. The leads are also a good length, which makes things easier when hooking them up to a circuit.

I suggest ear protection nevertheless, or you'll be cleaning earwax off the walls.

I replaced the buzzer in my quiet alarm clock with this thing and it works great. It's worth noting that it is a siren, not a constant tone.

Best for indoors. Piezo's don't withstand high humidity or temperature extremes. For outdoors use a speaker-based siren if you want it to last.

I tryed to use it in a marine envirorment, and after two days, it nolonger functioned. I have never seen anything that wears so easily. When it did work it didn't buzz, it squealed. sometimes it was loud othertimes it was quiet. It is overpriced and poorly built. Do not buy it!
