Comments about RadioShack Project Enclosure (8x6x3"):

bought 2 of these. needed them to swap 2 Regency BTH-201 VHF-FM Transceivers out of there factory metal chassis that were beat up when i got them. everything fit inside with just the right amount of room. the metal boxes would have been better for heat dissapation from the transistors but metal it to hard to work with for me. all in all and excellent product. looking forward to buying more of these soon.

Comments about RadioShack Project Enclosure (8x6x3"):

The only problem with this product is that is doesn't fit any of the PCBs that radioshack sells. The small ones fit inside, but they can't screw into the 4 mounting holes provided. Its really frustrating to have to drill your own holes and use your own screws to mount every board. Great product otherwise.

Works well for amateur radio patch panel

Comments about RadioShack Project Enclosure (8x6x3"):

I use these to make patch panels for my amateur radio station. I have two rows of 6-each BNC feedthroughs mounted on the front (long side) of the enclosure, and corresponding holes in the back to feed coax cables through, to each BNC feedthrough. That way, I can use short BNC patch cables and quickly change which antenna goes to which rig, etc., rather than having to reach behind my desk and get tangled up in tons of cables, trying to disconnect/reconnect antennas. I've made two of these patch panels over the last 10 years and they have held up well. I recommend that if you use them for patch panels, that you screw the enclosures down to your desktop, otherwise they will move around too much when connecting/disconnecting patch cables.

Used this to mount, and hide wires for my Emergency Light Switchbox on my truck, powered my fog lights, lightbar, and all my leds, mounted the switchbox right to it, and was able to organize all of the wiring right in the box! Perfect!

This project box is a great foundation for my selfmade amp cooler. The person that complained about it not being metal should have read the description better. ABS (plastic) is clearly stated :)

Comments about RadioShack Project Enclosure (8x6x3"):

I used this box for a charge controller project for my amateur radio stations battery back-up. It does double duty as a convenient power port box (2 cigarette lighter power ports, 2 sets of 30Amp binding posts). I run 45 to 50Amps at 13.8V through this box daily. It cuts and drills easily and is easy to customize.

I'll buy another just like it and use it for a break out box.

To the other reviewers who complained about it not being metal. Did you not look at the picture?

Needed a metal chasis, but it turned out to be plastic and is not suitable for my project. Should have a better description of the product.

Works great! Easy to drill holes into and serves its purpose nicely as clean looking box used to house 12V fuse holder blocks. Please note this box measures 8"X6" and is 3" deep so its a decent sized enclosure.
