Work well, soldering can be a challenge

Comments about RadioShack 1-3/8"" Mini Clips:

I've used these clips once a year for about 15 years for a school project.

These work fine, but are hard to solder. The trick is to sand the spot where you want to solder. This must remove some sort of protective coating, and the solder has something to grab. Doesn't take a lot - I've just used some 220 grit sandpaper to scuff the surface up, and I can then get good solder adhesion.

Comments about RadioShack 1-3/8"" Mini Clips:

I used this product to create alligator clip test leads for a multimeter, and to attach clips to the ends of wires.

                  Solderable? Technically.

Comments about RadioShack 1-3/8"" Mini Clips:

You can apply as much flux as you want, it's still going to be hit-or-miss as to how well the joint will hold. It took me about four tries to get some beefy test lead wires soldered up, and during my attempts I managed to fatigue the metal on two of the clips to the point where they broke off.

Once you get them successfully soldered, they work decently well, though I doubt I'd trust them for high-power situations.
