Cons Best Uses Comments about RadioShack Ground Loop Isolator: Works great was about to spend way to much at the music store trying to resolve this with my krk monitors. Any one with a home studio should keep one these on deck at all times. Also could see a use if having this issue with car audio in late models. Pros
Cons Best Uses Comments about RadioShack Ground Loop Isolator: Had been getting annoying hum from Time-Warner DVR hooked to 37" flat screen TV, worse at some times than others but especially bad when viewing recordings and would get even louder when fast-forwarding or rewinding. Knew it was DVR problem rather than incoming cable line because there was no hum when viewing directly from cable (without going thru the DVR box). Replacing the DVR didn't help -- did that several times, but they all had the same problem & cable guys couldn't figure out a solution. But the hum stopped immediately upon installing this device! Only confusion was which way to connect it. Tried first connecting short cables to the DVR and longer ones to TV, that cut the hum by 90% -- but connecting the reverse way cut it out completely. Well worth the price...

Pros
Cons Best Uses Comments about RadioShack Ground Loop Isolator: I used this to solve a hum problem with the subwoofer in my home threatre system. The hum showed up anytime TV cable was connected to my television. I tried working with the cable company, using a surge protector with cable connections, using a grounded subwoofer cable, and on and on. Nothing helped. This product solved the hum problem instantaneously. I'm ecstatic. I'd give this 5 stars if it wan't for the lack of a female RCA connection on the device.

Comments about RadioShack Ground Loop Isolator: To my immense surprise, this item did exactly what it was advertised to do -- got rid of a nasty hum/buzz I was experiencing when I hooked a computer audio output to my home theater receiver. The piece is a bit more expensive than others I've seen various places online, but it worked perfectly for my use, and I was able to pick it up at a local RS store without waiting for it to be shipped, which was a plus in this case. So the slight premium was worth it.

Best Uses Comments about RadioShack Ground Loop Isolator: I hooked up my HP laptop to my stereo using the laptop's headphone jack. The hum was unbearable...easy to test how much hum you have = just play a vid with music...crank the stereo to medium level, then mute the sound on the laptop.
Pros
Cons Best Uses Comments about RadioShack Ground Loop Isolator: This thing is awesome. I had terrible noise coming from my HP Compaq nx9600 sound card. I plugged it in to a gear one pa2400 mixer and had static and noise coming out of the speakers. As soon as I used the Ground Loop Isolator the noise went away and the sound quality was awesome. I was considering getting another laptop for DJing but this little device saved me alot of money. If your speakers sound bad because of your laptop go ahead and get this, you will not regret it.
