Product Summary

Reception at its greatest

The High-Gain Amplified AM/FM Antenna is engineered to deliver superb AM/FM reception. It's stylish and it allows you to hear fringe stations more clearly. Even the weakest of FM signals are increased in strength because of the built-in low noise, high-gain amplifier. The results from this dramatically improve signal reception while reducing unwanted noise. This antenna features adjustable gain control with lighted indicator for boosting weak signals and reducing feedback from strong stations. Most of all, you can listen to your favorite radio stations through your home stereo or A/V receiver.

  • Boosts weak signals and reduces feedback from strong signals
  • Complements any decor

Comments about RadioShack Amplified AM/FM Antenna:

Purchased this to increase signal level for FM. Within a couple days had FCC and FAA knocking on door. Aparently this device was causing interference to aircraft in vicinity. Was told I could not use... The options given were return to store, dispose of, or $10,000 fine if used again...

Comments about RadioShack Amplified AM/FM Antenna:

I bought this antenna hoping to gain lost stations as well as better reception, I was very dissapointed, it does bring in some stations better but still could not get some local stations, for the money I spend on it I should be able to pick up stations from far away.

Comments about RadioShack Amplified AM/FM Antenna:

Bought this to bring in fringe stations from NJ and CT as well as AM stations. Spent 2 hours trying to find optimum location using the suggestions in the owner's manual -- I need to move the antenna depending on the station! FM reception no better than the dipole supplied with the receiver -- forget AM, a bare wire gives better reception.

Comments about RadioShack Amplified AM/FM Antenna:

I felt a little discouraged by the negative reviews about this product, but I decided to give it a chance. It works better than expected, I have a radio with poor selectivity and live in a mountainous area, and I have stronger local stations taking up other spots on the dial.

I was impressed, it does a good job of bringing in weaker signals and blocking out the larger ones. Picking up stations that I couldn't previously pick up with the standard antenna. Exactly what I was looking for.

Its not the best, but it fit the bill for what I was looking for without having to setting up a $200 antenna on my roof.

I live in an apartment and my the tuner/cd player is my sole entertainment source. I had poor reception for both FM and AM, but this antenna brings in so many more stations. No more static for NASCAR and Rock and Roll!! Everything as promised and more. Highly recommend.

We've had a small modular AF/FM/CD stereo unit in our kitchen in rural Wisconin for about 8 years. We struggled with a wire dipole antenna, never getting very good reception. It was either try an amplified antenna or replace the unit. This antenna transformed the sound. We now listen in stereo, getting most stations clearly. The packaging, ie small footprint, 6' long leads allowing up-high placement, and a clever combining of FM cable down from the unit and power source up, easily fits into our kitchen design. Money well-spent.

This antenna did not work well for me. I needed it mainly for AM stations and the AM stations would not come in clear. It could only pick up the strongest FM stations clearly, all others have lots of static.
