Best Uses Comments about RadioShack Amplified AM/FM Antenna: This product has horrible reception. Don't buy it.
Pros
Cons Best Uses Comments about RadioShack Amplified AM/FM Antenna: We've had a small modular AF/FM/CD stereo unit in our kitchen in rural Wisconin for about 8 years. We struggled with a wire dipole antenna, never getting very good reception. It was either try an amplified antenna or replace the unit. This antenna transformed the sound. We now listen in stereo, getting most stations clearly. The packaging, ie small footprint, 6' long leads allowing up-high placement, and a clever combining of FM cable down from the unit and power source up, easily fits into our kitchen design. Money well-spent.
Pros Cons
Best Uses Comments about RadioShack Amplified AM/FM Antenna: This did nothing to improve reception. There is no improvement at all.

Best Uses Comments about RadioShack Amplified AM/FM Antenna: This antenna did not work well for me. I needed it mainly for AM stations and the AM stations would not come in clear. It could only pick up the strongest FM stations clearly, all others have lots of static.

Comments about RadioShack Amplified AM/FM Antenna: I've tried a lot of different antennas. Finally one that works. Signal went from nothing to "knock it out of the park" perfect. I'm extremely happy with it.
Pros Cons
Best Uses Comments about RadioShack Amplified AM/FM Antenna: I'm in an area with very marginal reception. Just able to get by with the standard dipole antenna. This unit actually degrades the performance relative to the dipole. Tried tuning by angle and using the gain control, no improvement. Sticking with the dipole for now.

Comments about RadioShack Amplified AM/FM Antenna: I have a receiver in my garage and it was worthless for AM/FM radio before I attached this antenna. The reception was scratchy and the stations faded in and out. After attaching the antenna I received good clear signals for both AM and FM. I live on an island in Puget Sound and I'm picking up Seattle stations with clarity that I would rate at 8-9 out of 10. I can now enjoy listening to my favorite stations while working in my shop. I plan to purchase another antenna for our home music system.
Pros Cons
Best Uses Comments about RadioShack Amplified AM/FM Antenna: When I bought this,I was looking for an AM medium wave for commercial radio...I used it both Am/Fm and both are not very good at all...I went to a plain set of rabbit ears for the Fm and because of space, still use it for Am local reception...The Fm is just an ampilfied wire, which I just unplugged the amplifier because there was little difference...Then went to the rabbit ears, which work so much better...FOr Am, I'm building a spirial 120' medium wave antenna with capacitor and will discard this altogether...
Pros Cons
Best Uses Comments about RadioShack Amplified AM/FM Antenna: Just does not do the job (Period).
