I was skeptical that this mount would work with my workshop's rather shallow 4/12 roof pitch and overhanging roof tile which takes up 1/3 of the rake board's width. This combination leaves little separation between the upper and lower mounts. But the stamped metal mount parts are sufficiently thick with good electro-galvanizing and it is quite adequately sturdy used with a 5ft mast and the omnidirectional FM aerial shown in the photo. A good product I would recommend to anyone.

It is amazing how lack of information RS is of this (and many more) product.

I was planning on a modest installation of either a RS 15-2160 or a Winegard HD-1080 and this looked doable especially when I did not want to mug around with nailing the roof or breaking the vent pipe.

First thing I looked into was the length of the bottom support to figure out if it would be feasible for my eave which is rather flat. Sound simple? Good luck! Even an email to customer service yielded no more than an apology. Fortunately, a trip to a local store and a courteous clerk got the answer: just shy 2 feet and the center-to-center distance between the outer holes is 22".

My two brackets are no more than 8" apart but it is very stable with the HD-1080 (the heavier of the two, I chose that for the high VHF.) If you are thinking bigger antennas, use the 40"-60" bracket, but then make sure your trim board can handle it, remember to account for the wind as well.

I say it is perfect for smaller antennas. Would get the extra star if they care to print the dimensions on the box.

A solid support for short masts. I picked up a 7/32 drill bit and a 3/8 magnetic nutsetter to help pre-drill holes for installation and make the lag screws easy to install...doing that minimized the amount of time I had to spend atop a rickety ladder. Also, although there are four mounting holes on the bottom brace, for some reason Radio Shack only gives you two lag screws for it, so it's not a bad idea to get two more while you're at the store. My one complaint is that I wish the bottom support was even wider. I have a fairly steeply-pitched roof, and even then the two supports are only a foot or so apart. For someone with a flatter roof, they'd be practically next to each other.
