Comments about RadioShack 4" Antenna Mast Wall Mount: This is a better option than the metal strap system for chimney mounting, IMHO. Straps worked for 5 years for me, but the system was difficult to install. For this bracket system, which needs to be screwed into the mounting surface, I borrowed a hammer drill and used Tap-con screws to anchor into the brick. I added a lockwasher to the bolts holding the antenna pole - these were included with the strap system this was replacing, one minor advantage to that system. The other advantage to straps is not having to drill into the brick. But I cut myself on the metal straps before and the ratcheting mechanism warped as I reached the appropriate tightness - not encouraging.

Comments about RadioShack 4" Antenna Mast Wall Mount: Can't believe you are are complaining about something that costs [$]. It does the job, you know you can get it at the shack when you need it. It would take me longer to find it at [...] than the entire drive down and back to Radio Shack!
Pros Cons Best Uses Comments about RadioShack 4" Antenna Mast Wall Mount: I live in a rural county and the only place I could find one of these "near by" was a radio shack 30 miles away. No problem but pricy. Got it home and although the box says galvanized steel it's raw steel. Since I live two blocks from a saltwater river before installing it I had to prime and paint it with rustoleum.

Comments about RadioShack 4" Antenna Mast Wall Mount: I live 40 miles NW of Albany NY. When the switch to digital happened I lost half the channels I used to receive. I finally broke down and boutht a roof top antennae. Once I got the antennae up it was amazing how clear the channels came in. I receive much more channels than I did before. I recommend a 5 foot mounting pole. I went with the 10 footer and it was a lot harder to install. Pros

Comments about RadioShack 4" Antenna Mast Wall Mount: This product is described accurately; and priced exactly the same in the store as on the website. I read the description before I went to the store and knew what I was buying. The big box hardware stores don't even deal in antenna mounting hardware; and the true "hardware" stores are few and far between. Convenience of Radio Shack was great; I knew what I was buying - got what I wanted - and have no complaints! Pros
Cons Best Uses Comments about RadioShack 4" Antenna Mast Wall Mount: Galvanized items such as this are used all the time outside, and yes it will develop some rust in a few years, but not enough to compromise its strength; paint it if still concerned. This bracket stands out from the side of the building so that the mast readily clears the edges of concrete roofing tiles or other overhang. Brackets with this attribute are not readily available in my area (population > 1 million). Pros

Comments about RadioShack 4" Antenna Mast Wall Mount: Others are hammering this mount as being to expensive & I questioned the price as well when I saw it in the store BUT the mount is of high quality & comes with every piece of hardware needed for a successful installation. The fact that its made here in the good ol USA makes justifies the price tag:-) Pros
Cons Best Uses Comments about RadioShack 4" Antenna Mast Wall Mount: The price on this is ridiculous. It wasn't that long ago they were [$]. Welcome to radio shack. You got questions, we got cellphones. Displaying reviews 1-8 |
