These should be 25 cents each - not [$] for one. It's just a little piece of rod. Sort of like an 8-32 machine screw that has been smoothed and tinned. As an example of the excessive price, the whole iron kit is only $9. The tips must be made of some soft metal because they wear down very quickly.

These tips dont last at all. I bought 1 3 weeks ago and its already read for the trash. I only use them on small smds so i need good tips. Ill be buying a hakko soon so i dont have to buy these junk tips.

I keep them really clean also and they still wear out quick.

I like the feel of the 25W IRON, but this tip wears too quickly. The plating is thin, and once it wears threw, the tip starts pitting really fast. There are not other shapes of tips available for the iron at Radio Shack, just the 1/8" Pencil tip, so if you want a chisel tip, screwdriver tip or pointed, you have to look else ware.

I use these everyday in my work. Tip last only about 4-5 hours before needing either a new one or reshaped. Should come in a pack of two or more. I like the 25 watt iron though, that thing lasts and lasts!

Great iron tip. Used in conjunction with the tinning solution it'll last forever. I've even used this tip for small SMD soldering without any issue. Can't beat the fact that it can be found at any local store either.
