We started having a problem with burglaries in our neighborhood. My husband's tailgate was stolen from our driveway-his alarm never went off. We put this camera in the front window aimed at our driveway and front lawn and I truly believe it has kept us from having any more problems. I accidentally left our garage door up all night last week and nothing was stolen. I think the blinking red light makes anyone think twice about choosing our house. The 9 volt battery lasts over 6 months so we plan to put one up in the attic vent facing another side of the house since we won't have to change the battery often.

I BOUGHT THIS AND WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT THAT IT WOULD NEED SPECIALLY SIZED SCREW DRIVER TO OPEN IT.
BEING THAT I BOUGHT EIGHT SCREW DRIVERS FOR ONE DOLLAR I WISH I HADN'T MISPLACED SIX OF THOSE TINY TINY SCREWDRIVERS.
STILL NOT UP AND RUNNING.AAGGHH. I CAN'T OPEN IT TO PUT THE BATTERIES IN.

I bought a couple of these to try out as a deterrent on my property.....A couple of things....A precision screwdriver is needed in order to loosen and tighten the screws in the camerabody in order to install the batteries....The process is not difficult at all, if you have the proper size screwdriver...A glaring fault on my cameras is that the logos and decals were installed upside down....so that the logos are upside down when the camera is hung from the bracket....A production line error...The mounting threads for the bracket should be on the top of the camera body....and the Radio Shack logo should face up....Instead, it is upside down...I spray painted over the Radio Shack logo anyway so that the local busybodies could not easily identify the make of camera (to find it online and determine that it is a fake)....Mine will be mounted high enough that a ladder will be necessary for anyone to reach them anyway..The [$] price is good for a deterrent but for any price, one should not expect obvious production flaws such as upside down logos...After I mount the two that I have, I'll probably purchase a few more to cover the peremeter of the building....

Product has scared a lot of no-do-goods off my property. Some of them could be seen pointing at it while getting away from it's supposedly, range.

I live in the country and dont have many homes beside me. Lately we have had things stolen out of our barn. Once i installed this security camera the thieves have stopped. Excellent product!!

This was a great suggestion from the Shack staff.
It looks like the real deal therefore it is a great deterrent.
We were having problems with neighborhood kids. They would jump to our pool from the roof of our house when we were out. Since we installed this camera our troubles are gone. It has been 2 years and it has worked great!

Cons: We had to go online and look for the manual on how to change the batteries. We are mad it took so long to figure this out.

Overall, for the price we cannot be more pleased.
