"Better" speaker wire? Cmon' people, it's regular old speaker wire, made from regular old copper. Better copper? Pa-lease! You've been sucked into the "Monster Cable" fallacy. Sure, go ahead and spend 4x for your speaker cable if you must, but it IS NOT doing you ANY good to do so. Get the right gauge for your power needs - that simple. And can't find the polarity marking? Cmon' people, this isn't rocket science - look for the raised rib on one of the wires - they've only been doing this for the last 50 years now...

Great sound quality, however there are some design flaws...who makes speaker wire and leaves out the color coding...all white, no black/white gray/white (more inconspicuous than black) to show different channels. i had to mark the cable periodically and hope i followed the cable correctly. I had to run over 130ft of this HEAVY cable across the ceiling so trying to keep track of which cable was which was a buzz killer....common sense failed this company.

The tactile polarity marking is easy to use, while not detracting from the desired appearance of solid white wire. The photo shows exactly what you are getting.

Unlike "lamp cord," the speaker wire is high quality copper. This speaker wire is actually better than the clear stuff of the same gauge, as it is composed of finer strands which lowers resistance and improves signal transfer.

RS 16 gauge speaker wire in either brown or white is an outstanding product and one of the best things in their stores today. I don't work for them, but I do believe another reviewer works for their competition.

I bought white to blend in with white walls where wire is hung. Polarity is denoted by tactile line on one side, smooth on the other. Sound is as good as ever. All parts in system are Realistic products. I like result.

The photo is misleading, it is not flat at all. There is absolutely no way to tell polarity by looking at it. The only way to determine polarity is very small ridges molded into one strand of the wire that you can only feel, barely. The more I worked with it the more familiar it looked to me, and what do you know, it's the EXACT same wire used for the power cord on a white crock pot we recently bought, basically LAMP CORD. It should be advertised as 'Here's some lamp cord that works great for speaker wire'. I most likely will replace it with speaker wire made by a company that specializes in making speaker wire, what a monster idea!
