Comments about RadioShack 38kHz Infrared (IR) Receiver Module: And the part number is. . . . V4838
Pros Cons
Best Uses Comments about RadioShack 38kHz Infrared (IR) Receiver Module: It would really be helpful if there was a link to a data sheet or something. It isn't good business to sell blindly. I frequently buy from RS, but probably not much longer. Documentation would solve the problem. Spending money on parts without documentation is a gamble, especially when working on repair or expensive robotics projects. Me or my business will no longer be purchasing until this is fixed.

Comments about RadioShack 38kHz Infrared (IR) Receiver Module: Wasn't sure, but didn't want to order the "correct" part and wait 2 weeks for it to arrive, so bought this one, soldered it in, and it worked perfectly.

Comments about RadioShack 38kHz Infrared (IR) Receiver Module: I have an iMON VFD IR receiver & VFD display device. The IR receiver itself broke off and the wires were only left. I took the chance to visit this site and purchase a replacement IR receiver. Once I got it, I took off the aluminum casing from the IR receiver and soldered it onto the receiver board. The new IR receiver is shorter than the original but to its advantage, it works better than the original. The final result is that I can continue to use the VFD display and saved myself from spending another $100. Thanks Radio Shack!!!
Pros
Cons Best Uses Comments about RadioShack 38kHz Infrared (IR) Receiver Module: Used this receiver in an introductory microprocessor project: adding only two resistors and one capacitor I was able to discern the full range of codes from a standard Sony remote controller. Subsequently incorporated into an old TV to add a remote mute function it operates reliably at 30 feet in full daylight.
