Bought this in the winter of 2004-2005 so Mom could call my room if she needed me. Worked great. It's now 2013 and I need to use this with my husband now. Still working great.

Comments about RadioShack Advanced 3-Station/3-Channel FM Wireless Intercom:

With a big two-story house out in the country, and with 4 kids, being able to TALK from one level of the house to another, instead of SHOUTING!, is nice. The problem with these intercoms, and I completely knew this before purchasing, was the possibility of electrical interference within the wiring. This of course will affect the intercoms. In our case, it's quite severe. We do have X-10 gadgets here and there around our house, so this is most likely the culprit. Although in this modern electrical gadget-filled day and age, many other things can cause the noise on the intercom system. I guess with an FM protocol system, that's the nature of the beast. Bottom line, if you can spend more, get a WIRED system. But for the under hundred dollar price range, and that's for three intercoms, it's not such a bad deal.

Bought this to replace an older intercom that was starting to have problems. This unit at it's best was far worse than the old system at it's worst. Returning this system.

Worked the first 10 minutes, then never again. Since a couple of cans with string between them would work better than these, they are going to be returned tomorrow morning.

My 77 year old dad just got out of the hospital and he lives next door to me,and he does not have a phone and will not use one,so we needed a way he could reach us if he needed us,so we bought this set,we were very pleased to find out that there were a total of 3 intercoms, for [$] which we put one at his home, one in ours and the other in my garage which is 80 feet from my home and is about 100 feet from his,and all three work very well and all 3 have different power meters/sources.

Comments about RadioShack Advanced 3-Station/3-Channel FM Wireless Intercom:

We purchased the initial three units but then bought an additional two and have had absolutely no problems with them. One is on the second floor and the rest are scattered about the house.
All work remarkably well and we don't have any complaints.
The ones who do complain most likely are not reading the directions carefully or are attempting to use them too far apart of with very obvious equipment which causes interference.
Or.... they may be among those who just like to complain !

Comments about RadioShack Advanced 3-Station/3-Channel FM Wireless Intercom:

We use one unit in my basement office, one in my woodworking shop, which is a detached building 125-feet away, but on the same electical phase, and one in the kitchen.
These units have worked great for many years and just recently the one at the workshop has failed, probably due to a power surge or lightning. Perhaps a simple surge protector might have saved it!
