We verified via a bin check at our distribution center that the lengths advertised in the product description are the lengths that ship. Comments about RadioShack 315-Ft. Magnet Wire Set: Great for projects, but comes with 3 75 foot rolls... 215 feet, not 315. Pros Cons Best Uses Comments about RadioShack 315-Ft. Magnet Wire Set: I really like this wire. I have found it easy to use when making inductor coils for crystal sets and ham radio projects. I really don't know what some of the complaints are about. Yes, the wire can be brittle, especial the 30 gauge red wire, but it is not too difficult to work with if you take your time and don't let the spool unravel or get kinked. I do wish the wire was available in single spools and longer sizes instead of in a set of three. It is sad that Radio Shack no longer carries a lot of the electronic parts like they did in the 70's and 80's that they were known for, and what established the company. That said, there are sources on the Internet for wire and parts, you just have to do a Google search sometimes to find them. Pros

Comments about RadioShack 315-Ft. Magnet Wire Set: Magnet Wire is increasingly becoming a vanishing resource; which is quickly disappearing from almost all of the outlets where hobby coil winders used to be able to find it for winding their own custom coils. (at least Radio Shack still carries an extremely limited "Token Assortment" of Magnet Wire. Too bad they have almost eliminated all of their other parts for the electronics hobbyist; an available parts "stock and trade" that this company was originally built on. The most obvious reason that Magnet Wire is fast becoming a scarce resource, is that the "Big Industries" don't want home hobbyists to be able to wind their own custom coils for themselves anymore. Perhaps that is the same reason why Radio Shack is now "Folding back" and kinking their Magnet Wire on its spools, to render it completely useless for winding a decent coil for Critical custom hand-wound coil applications. As for references to finding the correct -Ten to Twenty foot lengths of 14 or 16 Gauge Magnet Wire for a Tesla Coil's Secondary at Radio Shack? Good Luck buddy! Let alone the necessary 1000 or more Feet of 26 to 30 Gauge Magnet Wire for a Tesla Coil's Primary. Pros

Best Uses Comments about RadioShack 315-Ft. Magnet Wire Set: I bought this because I was planning on making a basic AM radio that called for magnet wire, This wire was kinked all through out the spool making it near impossible to use if you need more than a couple of feet, I have spent the last 2 hours trying to unkink it to the point of it being usable and I only have about half of what i need, seriously poor quality, I am extremely frustrated at the moment which is the only reason I am even reviewing this item Pros
Cons Best Uses Comments about RadioShack 315-Ft. Magnet Wire Set: Strip the ends of this wire by melting off the enamel using a lighter. This works very well. You'll make yourself crazy trying to use wire strippers. Pros
