This SWR meter was pretty great. I'm super amature about CB's and put one in my SUV. Had a friend tell me to keep an eye on my SWR or i would fry something, cant remember. well anyway, bought this one from radio shack, and actually installed it inline from radio in my dash for everyday use. Worked really good for me, instructions super easy to follow, and analog guage is surprisingly easy to read. the only bad part is you have to buy a coax cable, to go between the meter and your radio, seperately.

We have been in Ham Radio for over 50 years. For the price it was a bargain and works up to par with all the expensive meters on the market.

We bought this meter to monitor our transmission line between our antenna tuner and antenna. We knew what the tuner was doing, but needed a swr/power meter to know what the line was like after the tuner. It was a success!

Nice cheap meter. I keep it inline to make sure the built-in SWR/power display on the 897D is behaving. I also use it to watch SWR and power at the same time. My only gripe is that its too light...I added weights to the bottom to keep it from tipping up while connected. I also accept the fact that it didn't come with "jumpers"...because its already inexpensive.

This product is useful and handy to use and definetly user friendly. The small compact size is ideal for both shack and portable use. Also the range of power uses is amazing for a simple and small instrument making it very useful in every situation. I Recommend it highly Also I am very please with the service from the company.
I am from Ireland and was visiting Chicago at time of purchase. I was impressed with the help from the shop in Sheridan who checked which shops in Chicago had the produnct and the shop in S. Cicero where the the young girl searched around the premises until she found the product and was friendly and very helpful.

As the holder of an Extra Class ham license and licensed since 1959, I am well versed in SWR measurement. I also hold a General Radio Operators license(Used to be called First Class License)

Meter is accurate and easy to use, if you read the instructions.the con comments came from inexperience and not knowing how to use an SWR meter. Its not a Bird meter but didn't cost $300 either. Will serve most hams well.

A short coax jumper with PL259s is required to hook up the radio to the meter and is not included. The R.S. gougeologists want another 9 bucks for one. Regarding Pico Brain from Franklin County Virginia comments, a 2000 watt linear amp would cost much more than the price of this meter and will be substantially larger and with it's own power supply.

I bought one of these meters for my hf rig,it did not work,I took it back,they tried to make me keep it,they are junk,go buy a real power swr meter.
