Brought this phone around March 1 2013 to upgrade. The phone worked great for about two weeks then when I tried to get online I get the Message no data connection. After calling Virgin Mobile and trying to resolve this problem through their tech. support I still get the same message and they will not tell me where to take the phone to get it fixed.
I am very disgrunlted with them because they keep putting me off. The phone works great with WiFi but 3g and 4g ,,,nothing. I think I got a defective phone and Virgin Mobile will not resolve the problem... I would not recommend this product to anyone and certainly not Virgin Mobile.

This phone is awesome. The only two flaws are the battery life and VM SMS service (It was supposed to have unlimited messaging). Virgin Mobile needs to bring more phones like this. Prepaid Flagship Smartphones are awesome!!

I am an extremely heavy phone user and this phone is great! Battery last forever, its fast, never freezes and does everything. I upgraded from the LG Optimus slider with VM, which couldnt hold more than two apps, froze constantly and the battery was horrid! The s2 is so much of an improvment that i dont even know where to start it does everything!!! It has amazing memory and battery life, much better reception and call quality. Only downfall i noticed it the menu key keeps self activating. One quick call to VM and theyre sending me a replacment in white since thats what i wanted but radioshack didnt have it. VM has wonderful customer service, and this phone is phenominal. Definately the best phone VM has to offer, even better than the iphone.

I love this phone and with it having no contract it's just amazing, but I went through a lot of trouble to get it. I called my local Radio Shack to see if they had it in stock and they had told me no, the next day I was nearby and I went in and they had them in stock... I had already ordered mine online since I did not want to miss out on this deal so I had to wait for it to ship in because of an employee who had told me they weren't in stock... Other than that so far it's an amazing phone. :)

I bought this phone direct from VM and having a few days to tinker with it, I can conclude that this is the best phone on VM's lineup.

I previously had a Motorola Triumph, however it was lacking in a few key areas. Upon seeing the S2 on sale for ---- and the EVO V for ---- (11/25), I had to decide if it was worth DOUBLE the price. A friend of mine recently purchased the HTC EVO V 4G, giving me a privileged look to decide between the two 4G capable phones.

The S2 is noticeably thinner, and the screen is much sharper. I prefer the 8mp camera over the dual 5mp 3D camera too. The phone never locks up under daily moderate-heavy use. Battery life on VM's phone usually get a bad rap, however properly closing programs, using programs such as "GO Powermaster", and turning off 4g when I'm done with it really makes the OEM 1800mAH battery last. There is also a larger battery available with a back cover that makes the phone thicker for the tradeoff of more amperage. The larger amoled screen looks great in daylight (something my old Triumph had difficulty with), and is not difficult to navigate with your thumb.

A big issue I did notice, was that the EVO V's unlock/power button was MUCH more difficult to press. It did not give the responsive *click* that the S2 does. My friend says it does get really annoying at times, however he was able to adapt well to it. I had a considerable annoyance with it compared to the S2 button.

The only negative to this phone could be considered frivolous to some; however I believe it should be noted. Without a case, the back of the phone sits almost flush when placed on a table. This would seem to be nice; however the protective glass over the 8mp camera also makes contact. I have already slightly scratched this glass by placing my phone on a dirty surface and sliding it accidently. Applying a case or protective film such as invisibleshield should fix this nicely.
The two look quite similar on paper, however personally I feel the extra ---- was worth it.

Really a great phone; my first Smart Phone ever and after 4 days I can do all I want and more. Love the graphics! Internet can be slow when on 3g but fine with WiFi and it finds hotspots easily. Highly recommended; a good deal at Radio Shack, guys did all the changeover work and spent an hour showing me what I could do with it. I love Virgin Mobile but getting it "in person" is WAY better that the tech talkathon trip. I am 75 and if I can work this sucker anyone can! Price is right! Only drawback is battery life but getting a cheap 1800 MH one solved that and leaves me with the original for backup. HIGHLY recommend this device. PS Ice Cream Sandwich Android is WAY cool.
