Comments about RadioShack Electronics Components Pack 1:

What a horrible breadboard it has. It annoyed me to death trying to stick those capacitors and diodes into those tiny holes. Also the alligator clips were bad and hard to use. This pack is too expensive and poor quality, at least not what I expected.

Comments about RadioShack Electronics Components Pack 1:

breadboard is hard to push jumper wires in without bending your stuff all up. if you know absolutly nothing about electricity yet or jut want to make an led light up this is deffinitly not your kit. the most ive found to build/test with this kit is an component tester. there is soo not enough diversity in equipment. i was hoping for just the right amount of equipment and parts to tinker through at least 50 or so projects. i would have rather bought the individual resisters and all the cheap junk sepratly and got at least all the transducers ect. not 1 diode.solar cell.555. dont quickly scan the parts list or youll spend a frankie on stuff you wont/dont need

Comments about RadioShack Electronics Components Pack 1:

This is a really great kit, and contains everything you need to get started with the Make: Electronics book -- and it's cheaper than the kit sold by Make! However, I'd recommend getting new fuses because none of mine would melt, and I ended up shorting out a battery. Bottom line: This is a great kit even though you might have to go out and get some parts, and it beats paying $10 extra and having to wait for the kit to ship.

Comments about RadioShack Electronics Components Pack 1:

I found this kit to be exactly what it is described as. All the parts seemed pretty solid and what you need to complete the projects in the Make: Electronics book.

However I did have difficulty with the SPST push button switch. I was unable to mount it on the bread board and had to settle for using jumpers and alligator clips in order to integrate it into the projects, but not really a big deal.

                Over all solid, but average.

Comments about RadioShack Electronics Components Pack 1:

The good thing is that it has the parts you need for the book. The bad thing is that you could buy them for vastly less from an electronics supplier; although, that would be less convenient. I would recommend it to a friend only if he/she didn't want to look up the parts and order them, or if they were totally uninformed about electronic components.
