Comments about LG® LG 840G No-Contract Phone for Tracfone®: I upgraded my true and trusty lg410 to this phone and that is when the nightmares began! While activating the phone at the store, the clerk told me that Tracfone will deduct 300 mins from my phone for the transfer! This obviously was not to my liking even though I had 1500 mins to play with. He told me he could get around this and after watching hit and say many codes the phone was bagged up and out the door. I know that setting up any new phone will take awhile so went through each menu carefully. If you are new to touch screen phones like me, you will need to be patient and learn how to feel this phone out. Menu screens scroll smoothly as do contact list screen. The phone dial pad works really well as do the speaker on off button. When putting it down I did notice almost each time I would roll over the menu screen to the "widget" screen and have to hit the home key. The bottom keys are extremely sensitive just to make you aware. Wifi works with home internet and saves you minutes when surfing, though could never get it to connect with say a McDonalds or other social places. The browser takes some getting used to, you will be scrolling alot and tapping even more. I suggest you try mini opera, that helps out making surfing easier. Texting is not something I am really a big fan of but I did try it out. I again am not a big fan and found the qwerty key lay out hard to navigate and to easy to hit the wrong letter or symbol. The nail in the head was the signal strength. For your information, first this is an ATT sim card in this phone. If you have had problems in the past with ATT service, I recommend that you pass this phone up. I at the most part had 3 bars running out and about outside/in car, and 1 constant bar at the house, no matter what room! I could live with every other little nuisance but not that! If your set to try it, do so. Make sure though even if its a newer phone for you, that you can live with its quirky interface and signal depending on where you are in Missouri

Comments about LG® LG 840G No-Contract Phone for Tracfone®: This was a replacement for a 2g LG500. The 3g LG840g gets a better signal in most places I use it. Runs on ATT towers. It looks and feels like a quality unit and fits well in my hand and pocket. Email, Facebook, Twitter, MySpace built-in. Connects to Yahoo email and calendar. Camera is OK, music player is easy to load using usb. Keypad and keyboard text entry options. Runs Java apps. WiFi connects to most public and locked routers and can stream YouTube videos without using minutes (but they are very small due to the screen size). The built-in browser works pretty good and does what I need (accuweather radar, news, web search). I added UC Browser - works better than Opera IMHO. If not using WiFi, data is charged against phone minutes based on the amount of data being downloaded - a picture-intensive website will cost more to download (think of minutes as data units rather than time when browsing). Triple minutes with a monthly online Value Plan works great because any left over minutes roll over. It does everything I need pretty much anywhere I go. Overall, Two thumbs up!

Comments about LG® LG 840G No-Contract Phone for Tracfone®: This is a great phone. Unless you are trying to keep up with the Apple Gear heads, you wont go wrong with this phone. Small but mighty, great looking phone. Class product from LG.

Comments about LG® LG 840G No-Contract Phone for Tracfone®: The 840g is an update to the 800g model from a couple of years ago. The bigger touch screen makes a difference, and the phone also has Wifi connectivity as well as 3G capabilities. This is not a smartphone, but it will run a few java based apps such as Google Maps and Facebook. Touch screen is resistive, meaning if you are used to using an iPhone or Android phone, touching this screen will take a little more effort to get used to. Triple minutes for life is a great benefit as well, and comes in handy when taking into account Tracfone's updated (and more expensive in many cases) data useage rates for web browsing (on 3G) and picture/video messaging. Runs off of AT&T's networks mostly, so be sure you have solid AT&T coverage before buying this phone.

Comments about LG® LG 840G No-Contract Phone for Tracfone®: Good phone and a good value. It connects automatically to my cars bluetooth without needing me to confirm it each time like my old Trac Fone did. The touch screen feature means no more pocket dialing or getting on the web when putting the phone in your pocket, thus saving you minutes and money.
