        Comments about Arduino Atmega32u4 Microcontroller:

Works fine. It is not exactly the same as an Arduino Uno especially when it comes to Windows 8.1 and driver signing. This review contains comments about this issue in case it is helpful to someone. With the Uno you can get around the driver signing requirement (Google "arduino richochet wireless usb modem") but this alternate driver is not what the Arduino Micro needs. So for me, what worked was change to Arduino 1.5.5-R2 Beta software (it replaces 1.0.5) because it has signed Windows drivers. Also, the USB connector needs a USB A to USB Micro B cable, unlike the Arduino Uno. I had one around but it was bad and between this and the driver thing it took hours to figure out what was wrong. However, that's part of the "maker" game. If you're just starting out I'd recommend getting a Uno unless the small form factor is important to you. However, this MCU is a fine example of the amazing Arduino series.

            Comments about Arduino Atmega32u4 Microcontroller:

Bought this expecting to spend hours getting it to work. Got it up and running with a basic code (sketch) all under an hour.

Follow the directions on the Arduino website and you cant go wrong.
