    Comments about Sony® MDR-NC8 Noise-Canceling Headphones:

I am an avid gardener and I always am hooked up to my I-Pod. For a lo end product the sounds are great. The way I look at all the negativity by others who brought this product should blame them selves. Sony makes other high end headsets. I am a retired pro D J and have never had any problems with any Sony products

    Comments about Sony® MDR-NC8 Noise-Canceling Headphones:

If your looking for Dre Beats than get Dre Beats. These headphones are decent and previous reviews expect too much from headphones under 100 dollars. If you listen to music everywhere you go, these headphones are not bad. If you are looking for top of the line studio equipment YOU must SPEND MORE. After 4 months of having these headphones, I still do not regret getting them.

    Not worth the money.

    By Bob

    from Bobtown

    Comments about Sony® MDR-NC8 Noise-Canceling Headphones:

These headphones are extremely quiet. Even with the noise canceling (which there isn't much of), I still can't hear a thing. Turning the power on doesn't affect the sound quality, volume, or noise cancellation whatsoever. I'm not even sure what the power button is supposed to turn on exactly. Don't waste your money on these. I plan on returning these tomorrow.

    Noise Cancellation Simply Doesn't Work

        Comments about Sony® MDR-NC8 Noise-Canceling Headphones:

I am a pilot and have a very good (Bose) headset for use in my own aircraft. I am therefore familiar with noise cancellation. I bought this headset to use with my BB10 to listen to podCasts on a long-haul flight and find that there is no difference whether the noise cancellation is turned on or off. They're going back, but if you do buy a set, don't bother to buy a battery for it --- it has no effect.

          Comments about Sony® MDR-NC8 Noise-Canceling Headphones:

The noise cancelling feature is not worth the money. The only thing that muffles noise is the cushioned ear pads. That's not enough. These hp are going back. I'm disappointed Sony.

              Comments about Sony® MDR-NC8 Noise-Canceling Headphones:

No difference when i turn on the noise cancellation. At maximum volume I can still hear the people talking next to me. I bought this because I had a 8 hour traveling trip back home, it was a total disappointment. I have had headphones for $12 that were louder than this. Returning this item as soon as I get back from my trip.

                Comments about Sony® MDR-NC8 Noise-Canceling Headphones:

Not worth the time I took to buy these. Not even large enough to covet the entire ear. Most of the noise reduction comes from the pads, which is normal, and almost none comes from the active noise-canceling electronics. When I cycled the power wwitch I could not clearly hear a difference of ambiant noise.

                Comments about Sony® MDR-NC8 Noise-Canceling Headphones:

As the other reviewer said. Noise reduction is worthless. In fact I hear a faint hissing from headphones when its turned on. Headphones do a better job by themselves reducing noise then using the electronics. Otherwise OK sounding headphones. A step up from cheap earbuds that come with players.

Cont. Pro's= Easy Battery Change, Monitor Button for when someone is trying to talk to you while they're on, etc. I loved this set, I've had it for like 3 years now with no issues at all, I am a sound designer and these are perfect for when I am working alone in a loud place, such as a high school theater. It was the best investment of $150 I ever made, if you can find one, get it, it was and still is worth it.

                      Comments about Sony® MDR-NC8 Noise-Canceling Headphones:

Replaced Sony MDRNC7 with MDRNC8 What a disappointment.

What a difference. '7' was good for a cheap noise reduction headphone. '8' doesn't even block noise passively as well as my $20 Koss cheapies.

Total waste of money. Going back tomorrow.
