Comments about RadioShack® Pro Line 25W Soldering Iron:

this is not 25W. this is like 90W. Iron is able to melt solder in 8 seconds. After 2 minutes, my tip was done. Why would radioshack sell this garbage?

Comments about RadioShack® Pro Line 25W Soldering Iron:

Too hot for electronic soldering , immediately burns the pads off the pc board .. Had to connect it through a dimmer switch at 1/4 power in order to get it down to an acceptable temperature .. Very nice packaging ..

Comments about RadioShack® Pro Line 25W Soldering Iron:

I compared 7 diff types of equipment. This topped the list. I'm keeping it. But I do need to solder larger wire at times. this is a nice iron. 25 sec. to tin, another 25 to solder 2 16 gauge wires together. light weight, nice feel. I AM STILL SURPRISED AT THE RESULTS OF THIS TEST. I wouldn't trust any negative remarks on this just remember Board or light gauge wire work.

Comments about RadioShack® Pro Line 25W Soldering Iron:

I Bought the 25w Pro line soldering iron because my Rework Station died on me and I had to finish a job for a customer. I'm glad I bought this iron. As long as you have experience soldering you should be good. I would not recommend this iron to a beginner because it get's extremely hot and could easily damage small copper traces and other components if left in contact for more than a couple seconds.

Comments about RadioShack® Pro Line 25W Soldering Iron:

This is crazy how hot this iron gets, the tip is red hot after just a few minutes. Great parts and everything I just want to know how they justify a 1000 degree Fahrenheit iron with NO adjustable temp. This iron will quickly oxidize your solder and make it useless. Not only that but it will damage anything heat sensitive you're working with, things like LEDs.

I just brought it home and plugged it in, nothing happened, the tip as cool enough to touch after 10 minutes. I tried three different sockets too, I really like how this iron looks and it seems to be good quality, maybe I just got a dud. I will return it maybe for a working product.

Comments about RadioShack® Pro Line 25W Soldering Iron:

I have been using soldering irons forever. I started with the standard radioshack models but the tips wear down really fast, and when i try to unscrew them, they always broke off. So i decided to go with a fancy weller soldering iron. I lasted 1 month before it went out. So i dedcided to go back to radio shack and saw this new model. I have to say that it is the best iron i have ever had. It heats up really quick, the tips are very easy to replace, the tip stays clean and does not wear down like the others. This is my new soldering iron of choice. Radio shack nailed it with this on. and the price is great!
