Comments about Swann™ SWADS-440IPC SwannEye All-in-One IP Network Camera:

Fairly easy to set up and documentation is thorough. Can access camera view from iPhone, iPad, and from any browser over the internet. However, controls for settings are ONLY available through Internet Explorer. If you run only Apple then don't buy it.

I ran into issues when IE 11 was released. I have to credit their support team for resolving the issues promptly via email. I also used the call in support when I got confused about which iPhone app to download. Again, very helpful and very little wait time.

Comments about Swann™ SWADS-440IPC SwannEye All-in-One IP Network Camera:

Setup was a nightmare, after several calls into tech support I got it working, however the interface was very cumbersome. Video quality was good as was the rotational controls, but audio quality was very poor.

After spending quite a lot of time with setup and operation I returned it as it was not a fully developed product software wise.

When plugged in the self test did not come on instructions noted it should do a 10 sec or so test. Power light came on and so did the wifi even linked to my computer but no picture. Tried unplugging it , pressed the manual reset on back but still no picture or self test. I looking at the online store now see a lot better options. Also was never sure if this model would work outside so glad I took it back. Why do they want to keep it a secret of course most people want these mounted outside they know that why not tell us?

Comments about Swann™ SWADS-440IPC SwannEye All-in-One IP Network Camera:

This product works great once you get it set up. I had to go to a competitors site for a similar product to find out why remote operation would not work. Simply, if you are setting it up for remote viewing, you must be outside your home network to see it work. Go to a friends house to test OR I simply used my iPhone and TURNED OFF Wi-Fi on my iPhone to test while at my house. (some Routers have a loopback function to test inside the network - mine does not)

I think this is where many of the 1-star issues are coming from.

Going out to buy another one today. It will take 5 minutes to set up this time.

I had some problem decyphering the manual and called tech support. A very friendly Filipino guy was given access to my computer and installed the software but it was far from the very easy installation label on the box. He went through many juxtapositions on my machine and took a good 35 minutes to get everything up and running. I could never have done this myself. Also remote access through my Iphone is hit or miss. Sometimes I get an error message saying the player failed but if I wait a while (sometimes a long while) it comes back on line. I have it pointed out a window and the light glare seems to be an issue at night. I'm going to try to work around this by maybe mounting it outside like another post said. But all in all it is more economical than paying for a monthly service. It won't take the place of a good security system though.

On sale and after a rebate, this is not a bad purchase.

While there are some problems, I don't think it deserves a 1 start rating as some people pointed gave it.

We are in the Mac world here so here is what I found:
                          - The audio, record, and talk functions are not available in Safari or Firefox - I am looking at a way around this by adding Active-X to Mac or using IE on the Mac. If I can't get this working on a Mac, it's going to be disappointment since the whole point was to freak the cat out from afar.
                          - The manual is good is some spots but bad in others. The IP setup that I saw did not match the manual and the diffs to Mac were not explained properly - see point above. However, the on-screen controls are pretty good and not confusing.
                          - Some of the setup is difficult by nature - router ports, DDNS, so we ended up calling support after about 4/5 through, which helped with finalizing the settings. Support was excellent. I would recommend having someone who is somewhat familiar with these things help - whoever set up your home router would do and they can call support if necessary.
                          - We got it working and it's quite cool. We gave my brother in-law a temp guest ID and he was able to see our house from England!
                          - We were able to send emails if the alarm was triggered, which is cool.

The next steps are to get all the features using a Mac and figure out how to turn the email into a txt to our cell phone - but that is an email server issue..

I may buy another if I can get the Mac thing figured out.

Called the tech support team to get two cameras set up in my home. They were great and set up properly from afar by logging into my laptops, etc. Installed the app on my Iphone with no problem. It worked fine when I was in my home; however, when I tried pulling up the cameras to view images locally from coffee shops, it didn't work. Even took a trip to NC to see family. Couldn't view anything from afar so I've returned both cameras. You have to be in the IP address to view what is going on in your home or place of business. (Might work fine if you have a desktop to install this to but I have laptops and am mobile.) Will go with a different product

Comments about Swann™ SWADS-440IPC SwannEye All-in-One IP Network Camera:

If you look for a cheap WIFI camera with pan/tilt and email and nightvision capability, I think this is the best in terms of price, quality, and features. Sometimes you can feel something is badly made, not thought through, half working. I had the opposite impression with this product. Well thought out (also the manual), everything seems to have been designed well.
I bought 2 three months ago, and after extensive testing throughout that time, will likely buy a 3rd one. Although meant for indoors, I do use one outdoor (under a roof), subject to freezing temperatures and lots of moisture (Oregon). The indoor one is totally problem-free and nice to use. The outdoor one, I found the wifi with the temperatures and moisture is not reliable, so I connected it through ethernet cable and it has been working well over most of the winter. (The ethernet cable goes to a wifi adapter which is indoors, so I didn't need to put a long cable).
I know what I am doing with Internet related stuff, so I had no problems figuring things out. If you are a beginner and don't know what 192.168.1.1 means or dynamic IPs then don't expect it to work easy for you with access from smartphone and tablet and what not.
I myself also am not using the dyamic ip support of the camera, or UPNP... so cannot say much about that.
My primary use is as deterrent + as email notification when motion is detected or sound, and to check on things while away.
I found that it is very sensitive, has a tendency to send too many emails, but you can adjust...
Caught a lot of animals from the outdoor camera at night on camera.
For the money I can really recommend this, it's fun + functional. But don't expect this to fully replace a professional alarm system or one of the more expensive camera + DVR systems.

Mainly I wrote this review because I had a good experience and didn't agree with the other review on here, so thought I should share my experience.
