Yes / No - You may also flag this review Sep 6 2012 (5 of 5 customers found this review helpful) 4.0 Great DIY kit By Doc Brown from NE Ohio Pros Good layout Numerous Configurations Versatile Cons Lack of instructions Best Uses Diy Arduino Shields One-off Designs Prototyping Comments about Seeed STR104B2P Protoshield Kit for Arduino: The Seeed Studios Protoshield is a great product for prototyping an Arduino shield. It costs much less than both the official Arduino prototyping shield, as well as the offering from Make and comes with the same amount or more components. There are no instructions included in the kit, just a reference to visit the Seeed website for direction in assembly. The directions that are on the website are vague and not clear at times. However, they do guide you to creating a barebones Arduino shield for prototyping. I would like to note that the USB header and potentiometer can be left off of the shield as they are not required unless you plan to use them in your prototype design. There are a large number of components included in the kit, including extra male and female headers, switches, LEDs, and resistors. Assembly is easy, and I completed it in just under an hour, having never soldered anything surface mounted in the past.
