This adapter works great. I'm not sure why others had a large amount of problems setting it up, it worked right out of the box. The quality is better then some other mini display port to HDMI adapters. It's reinforced at the end to prevent the wires from being damaged inside. Some others one that I had before this did not have this feature, and they feel apart very quickly. I would recommend purchasing this adapter over some other mini display port to HDMI adapters.

I think people who say it doesn't work right out of the box didn't configure their mac right. Out of the box my picture worked fine. The sound however did not. All I had to do was go into sound settings and the mac found my tv right away. Just switch your audio to the tv and viola! Sound! Super easy. And if you don't have picture on your tv, make sure you have mirroring turned on in your display settings! Plug-n-play for some, minimal configuration for others.

All I got was it blinking in and out of a black screen then display constantly. It never settled.

When I found out that the game I wanted to watch was going to be broadcast online only, I drove the 2.5mi to pick this up. I got it home, attached all the cord, and PRESTO! It worked right out of the box, and worked for the entire 4 hour game.

I don't know what the problem was with the other reviewers' adapters, but I'm glad I didn't base my decision on their reviews.

I Don't even think this would make good firewood. I literally tried every cable type, on cables I knew and know (still in use on PS3) still work. and not an electron transferred. just don't do it. there are better things to get, i suggest apple, as their's are actually quite good.
