I've been driving cross-country with GPS units since 2007. These have been various models from all the popular brands provided to me by my employers. I decided to finally buy a GPS for my own use but didn't want to spend too much money. Despite what the sales people said, I bought this TomTom START 45M and dont regret it! I took it home, synced it up to my Mac, updated everything and set my own preferences. The following day, I left my central Ohio home for Chicago, using the unit along the way and for all 4 days I was in Chicago, navigating all of it's streets and freeways, then back home. The unit worked perfectly! Speed, streets, exits, speaking voice, all clear and accurate, easy to understand and see. Never mind that it's only [$] this is the best GPS I have used in over 5 years of extensive GPS use. Not once did it lead me wrong, it re-planned routes quickly and was as simple to use as it gets. Storing favorites and finding POIs is fast and easy and it's integration with my Mac seamless, once I updated the TomTom software version. I really have yet to see a negative about this unit!
