I bought a smaller heli made by the same company to test. The small one flew surprisingly well so I bought the interceptor. The interceptor flies just as well as the smaller version. I have owned over a dozen different RC helicopters and this one has so far been the easiest to fly right out of the box. The battery life is a bit of a bummer but by no means diminishes my opinion of the unit. Radio Shack's enhanced protection plan is also well worth the value considering that it will refund my money even if the Heli is destroyed as a result of my own stupidity (as long as it's not deliberate). I would recommend this toy to anyone interested in testing an RC helicopter or anyone who wants to get their kids into the hobby. Excellent value and Radio Shack's customer service just makes the product even better. Haters will hate but I love the thing.

I debated whether to buy the Radio Shack heli or go to a hobby shop. I own 6 RC cars and one boat and I wanted to try a heli. This is a great starter and is so much fun to fly indoors. The battery life is shorter than advertised but control is simple. I am planning on getting my dad one so that he can play on snowy days in NY.

I own several Heli's and Radio Shack is way over priced and the extended warrenty is worthless. I had to wait the 30 days to return it and it has been 3 weeks and still no credit back. The product is good for beginners, but check out Xheli, you can get a lot better product than from Radio Shack, their customer service is horrible!

i bought the thing for my nephew as a christmas gift. we opened it up, he was stoked, we charged it, the very first time we tried to fly it it lifted off the floor about 5 inches then it stopped working. the gear that engages the upper rotor had come loose. i took it back to radio shack, they were not very helpful at all. even though i bought the warranty for the stupid thing. they said it doesn't take affect until 30 days after the purchase date, and that radio shack no longer offers a warranty on the toys they sell. i was told to wait until the 30 days are up, then i can bring the broken toy into them they will send it back to the manufacturer and mail me a gift card for the money i spent on it. meanwhile my nephew is bummed and so am I.....

rotor gear is pron to breaking/cracking. I had it apart within the first 5 mins of its first flight to attempt a fix. This is Not my first heli. I own almost a dozen heli's and planes. This is by far the worst. A brass or metal ring around the axis of the gear would help in the durability of this failed design.
I would plan on buying extra gears or reinforce your own gears prior to flight, since the manufacturer will not supply them during its 30 day warranty period.
I was given this as a gift from my wife who is really upset that it broke so easy.

Very easy to fly indoors tried briefly outside ,not wind friendly only suggestion I would add is a larger battery for longer flight time, bought one for my son, but if he's not around I'm using the helicopter 5*****, great buy

Flew it about 8 times and the battery would not
re-charge. I will take it back and get my money back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this thing is great...i've had a few helicopters under $100 and this one is by far the best, my only complaint is that I had to return one for not working properly but i exchanged it for one that worked fine!
