This is the best flash drive that I have ever owned. It has been through my washer twice now and still works! I would deffinatly recommend this flash drive to anyone, espesialy thoughs who occasionaly forget to take them out of their pant pockets.

FYI, if you dont like the software that is pre-installed on this drive it can be easily removed.
Just Google "Uninstalling U3 Launchpad on a PC"

Download the U3 removal tool from the Sandisk website. Run it to format the flash drive.

You'll now have access to the entire USB flash drive.

I like the 16 gig drive. A little difficult setting up at first. However, the manual was also installed on the drive and after downloading it, it wasn't an issue. Did not like the fact that four other programs, including McAfee was attempting to download on my system. I love the fact that you can secure certain documents and programs and still be able to allow others to access your drive without fear.

My 8 gig was also password protected but after entering the password, All information was at fingertips of whomever was in possession of your drive.

At first glance this looks amazing. 16gb flash drive for about ten dollars (it was on sale). This was one of the best deals I could find at the time for 16gb.

The problem I had was the factory installed software. It is unable to be removed since it is partitioned on it's own separate CD format that computers only recognize as a CD drive. I've never liked this surprise when you get a new drive of any kind. Part of the new drive you bought is unusable and that detail is not mentioned on the packaging. This one was the worst that I have encountered so far since it automatically starts up as soon as you insert the drive into a computer. It's software you don't want, can't remove, and will come up every time you plug it in.

The absolute worst feature in the preinstalled and unremoveable software is that it has spyware built into it. It blew my mind when I found out that spyware was intentionally put in there and factory installed. If you have a decently stringent firewall it will catch the usb drive program trying to give information to SanDisk. Now I'm assuming it was just trying to give the less confidential info such as IP adresses and computer specifications, but that's still spyware(not a computer programmer so I wasn't able to find out the exact details).

When I went to return the drive because of the unusable formatted section and software I had problems with staff since the packaging was opened. There was no way for me to know about these issues until after plugging it in.

I will avoid this company in the future.
