    Comments about RadioShack® 1.5W Solar Panel 4.5V:

I have this panel, it works well, putting out the rated energy. I have several different power Radio Shack Solar Panels, for example my 4.5 Volt, one Watt ones, which work as described below:
I measured the 4.5 Volt, one Watt panels functioning well at 220 milli-amps, just as was advertised. I had them arranged two in series to power my little music generator, which is two LM2240N and two LM555 generating a two-tone tune. With the "lower" part of the two panel series circuit (4.5 V) I powered a small Radio Shack amplifier-speaker at the same time, and it's quite a nice little complicated, much variable tune. I played it for my girlfriend this morning in the morning Sun, she was impressed!

    Pros

    • Good Voltage
    • Ready Made
    • Reliable Performance

    Cons

    • Lacks Power
    • Only About 70ma Not 300ma
    • Pricey / Poor Value

    Best Uses

    • Extremely Low Current

    Comments about RadioShack® 1.5W Solar Panel 4.5V:

The product promises about 1.5Watt at 4.5Volts
It supply's about 5V but only about 65 to 70 ma.
    5V x .07Amp = .35 Watts or
    4.5V * .07Amp = 0.32 watts
    That is a far cry from 1.5W / 4.5V = .334Amp

    Comments about RadioShack® 1.5W Solar Panel 4.5V:

I used this to make a solar charger for my Cell phone. Voltage is a little low but the wattage is right. If wanting to make a solar charger go with the Higher voltage and at least 1W panel, Use resistors to bring voltage down to desired level. ( 5 Volts)
