Comments about RadioShack Extra Low Temperature Outdoor Weather Sensor:

I wanted to monitor the temps under my house especially during hard freezes. Unit stopped working within a few months. When I purchased these I got 2 so all 3 channels would be in use. I had one fail out out of 2 so I am at 50% which is a poor rating. I would not recommend this to anyone and probably will look for a totally different unit that is higher quality. The base unit seems good. Stores don't carry the extra units and you have no choice but to order online. Too much of a pain to get a replacement.

Comments about RadioShack Extra Low Temperature Outdoor Weather Sensor:

Exterior unit works well, once you've done the fussy setup procedure. However, unit lasts 1-3 years or so. I'm now ordering my third unit in 5 years, then seems to die for no apparent reasonl. (Base unit still fine.) Would normally not recommend something so finicky to a friend, but seems to be the only similar unit on the market.

Comments about RadioShack Extra Low Temperature Outdoor Weather Sensor:

Problem: Outside Monitor quits working after 1 year. Changing batteries doesn't seem to work.

Check this first: 1. Check and replace batteries,
                      2. NOW, use bent paperclip to RESET BOTH Monitor AND Base Unit.
This may avoid disappointment and keep the weather station working quite well. Mine is 2.5 years in use and still "ticking". (Also see insteructions if you still have them.)

Lasted about a year, main unit is fine, the sensor just quit working. Tried to change batteries and "reset" both units. Main display still had no temp display. Sensor was placed outside with little cover.

Sensor worked well for about a year. It suddenly failed and changing batteries did not help. Since it is meant to go outside, weather conditions should not be a factor but we had it under cover and it just stopped. Non of the stores in my area carry this so it has to be an online purchase. I try to monitor my water well pump and it is important that it works. Anyway, not sure if I would purchase another.

Seems pretty accurate. Shows max and min over last 24 hours. Resets itself each midnight. Took a few days to get used to features, but works great, easy to read. Now looking for extra sensors (out of stock) to check garage and attic temps.

I've had mine for about 1yr, but after the first good rain it quit. Tried changing battery but no good. Manual says it's water resistant, but don't submerse it,which is not like being in the rain.
