Customer ReviewsReviewed by 5 customers Sort by Displaying reviews 1-5 Pros Cons Best Uses Comments about Parallax PIR Sensor: I love this little PIR. I have it hooked up to an Arduino Uno. I have set to count up on a set of leds using the 74LS92 12-bit counter chips for every time it senses movement. I have enjoyed playing with this sensor.
Comments about Parallax PIR Sensor: My local store replaced the version B with version A which is a poorer quality product between the two versions. You need to pay attention to what you are buying as version A can be found several dollars cheaper from other retailers. Pay attention to what your being sold. Version B also has a 9 degree pin connector that makes using it on breadboards much easier. Version A wont directly mount on breadboards. Comments about Parallax PIR Sensor: Absolutely awesome especially for 10 bucks. The only thing I wish you could disable the motion LED that turns on when it detects motions Pros
Cons Best Uses Comments about Parallax PIR Sensor: This sensor is simple to use, just hook it up to 5V and ground; then watch the output pin. Works best with a microcontroller (an arduino for instance), but could be used analog. The output pin stays high while there is motion, and for several seconds afterwards, my only complaint is that the length of time it stays high is not adjustable (shorter or longer). That would make it much more useful. Pros

Comments about Parallax PIR Sensor: This is a great product. It is not a lot of money, but is very accurate and sensitive. It was capable of sensing motion from about 15 feet away for me. It was very easy to use. I hooked it up to my arduino and in five minutes I had a motion activated night light. I hope to use it for other future projects. Displaying reviews 1-5 |
