Comments about RadioShack Make Getting Started with Arduino Kit:

Been wanting an Arduino since I first saw it in a Radio Shack store, but I wasn't quite sure what it was. After watching some videos on Youtube of people's inventions with it... I bought one.

Disappointed it came with no instruction, I found an online copy of Getting Started With Arduino and it helped a lot. I'm still not sure of all its uses as I just started with it this week, but I've already learned more about electronics and programming than I have my entire life. I love this product... would make a great gift for a teen or adult. Even if they don't seem to be into electronics, this might just get them into it. Highly Recommended.

Comments about RadioShack Make Getting Started with Arduino Kit:

Great kit and goes along with the getting starting with Arduino Book. I got one with the RGB LED being common Cathode which is good as I have heard some got common anode which only requires a minor code change (LOW digital is on and 0 Analog is full intensity) and the appropriate wiring change (common to 5V and not GND)

Comments about RadioShack Make Getting Started with Arduino Kit:

This was an interesting purchase, to say the least. I knew from previous reviews on other websites this did not come with a book or any sort of sample project set (which, is a downfall there) but I was amazed by the sheer lack of documention.
I'm not completly new to electronics, but if someone is, this kit is bound to cause problems. the power supply comes with no directions on setting it up, LED's have no mention of what a cathode is, and the buttons have no mention of operation either. And, if you try to get help from the website mentioned in the pacakage, you get even less help.

However, poor documntation aside, this is still handy kit to have. It comes with everything you need to start with an ardunio, and a few things you don't need, but are handy to have. It's a fantastic place to start if your learning, and don't already have a breadboard, LED's, leads, and/or buttons. But again, you will need to turn to the internet to get a few answers if your totally new to the scene of electronics. And you will definatly need a book of some kind to learn anything about the coding.
