I love this telephone. I have hearing problems. This telephone has worked well for me. I have not had to ask the caller to speak louder since I got my new telephone. And I love the speaker phone feature. It allows me to have a hands-free conversation when I need both hands to make notes pertaining to the conversation. I also like the caller ID feature.

A new phone for sever hearing loss person. attempted amplified volume failed and whatever settings one tried to attain were lost after call. Amplific ation must be initiated after onset of phone call..not before so fumbling with buttons. Not good for geriatrics.

I bought this for my 92 year old grandmother. It is very difficult for her to use for many reasons:
1) the receiver did not sit very well in the charger, therefore it lost its charge and she didn't know why
2) Too many volume control buttons: 1 one the side (where she puts her hand and accidentally turns down the volume) and one in the center of the phone (which, again, she accidentally decreases the volume by pressing the down button with her cheeck while talking)
3) Volume resets to lowest volume after call
4) Programing was a little difficult

Overall, this phone was not well designed for the population it was intended for and has been frustrating for me to try to teach my grandmother how to use and for her to try to "troubleshoot" by herself.

This product is targeted at folks with hearing problems, especially seniors (which is why it has big buttons). BUT, the key feature is poorly designed.

The key feature is Audio Boost. There is a 5-level volume control, and an Audio Boost button. Audio Boost makes things louder. BUT, if Audio Boost is turned on when you end a call, the volume level resets to the lowest setting and Boost is off when you start the next call.

That means: if you get this phone because you're hard of hearing and need max volume, you'll need to press the Volume button 4 times and the Audio Boost button once at the start of every call! And if you're 80 years old, you're going to find this confusing and/or annoying.
