I disagree with the review which said "Does not work with Win 7". The Arduino 1.01 IDE runs fine on Windows 7 64-bit. Now, the USB driver for it did not install automatically like the docs said, but it will install manually from the Control Panel - System and Security - System - Device Manager. Make sure you have the Arduino UNO R3 plugged in first. The Blink program worked out-of-the-box.

Excellent board. software readily available online as an open source free download. compatible with java based hardware controllers. Reference materials are also readily available both in store and online. Take the time to learn your board before complaining about it.

great product! I wish radio shack focused more on the hobby side of electronics, but this product is certainly a leap in that direction. The versatility of a microcontroller, like the arduino, is mind boggling, and only limited to the imagination of the tinkerer. The code is not too difficult to grasp, but you can copy and paste someone elses if you are lazy. Coupled with a computer, and a few discrete components, this is probably the easiest way for someone to learn basic electronics and programming.

I'm using this as the brains for my autonomous robot. You can do so much with this gizmo! It uses a simple C-based programming language that's easy to pick up, even for a non-programmer. There are several inputs and outputs that you can use to control sensors, motors, etc. Cool stuff!

The price point is great! Everything works as expected. I am trying to figure out the programing languague for it. I am using projects off of *online websites* to help me with the code is, so far I am getting it. I do not see anything wrong, unreliable, poor quality parts, or anything that is bad about this product. It all works great, and I don't see any reason not to buy this product.

I bought this thinking i was going to use it with a infrared beam sensor but i was over engineering it a little, but it works great and i am going to repurpose it so that i can get distances to so that is a plus

I am a backyard roboteer. Through the years Radioshack has been a source a low selection of low end parts with insanely high prices. NOT ANYMORE! Ever since Radioshack has started the DIY system, I've noticed store employees seem to be more knowledgable and things are becoming more of a deal. For instance for $5 more than online price, I can get this arduino today. It is actually now cheaper to buy this from Radioshack than it is to buy it online if you include shipping. Something Radioshack has never accomplished before. However component parts are still rather pricy but there kits are a fair price. Radioshack, I applaude you for the first time.
