The product is good as a tuner/dvd player. But The Vhs stop's working, and begins eating tapes afer 2 years usage. Then also one can get one as I did before this one, and the VHS side broke down within 6 months. It's the VHS side which fails on this machine in time, or short period of time.

Does not work with modulator for older TV sets. States "all you need is RF MODULATOR", not true, does not record with modulator. Tried converter box, no success.

II have 3 of these units, unfortunately I dont have an extended warranty so I'm stuck with these. FYI ; ages 8 month to 1 1/2 month old. Price was $179-$229

Daily usage,I havent had a problem yet its been two years. With the right device you can record any dvd, which is cool. If you dont have the device then you can only record some.

Had mine for over a year and it works great. Allows me to play my old VHS format, as well as my newer DVD format plus I can record on either format (or both if I have alot to record). Best investment I ever made.

i owned two of these and the only reason i keep returning it and getting a new one is that i got the replacement plan. i get a new one for the cost of the replacement plan. the last player only lasted 6 months so this will be number three.

Original unit 'burned out' after 14 months ( out of warranty). Bought a 2nd unit - hoping for better luck. The 2nd one lasted 15 months and cannot be repaired for less than $150.00 ( after estimates from 3 repair people. DO NOT PURCHASE
