Just what I needed to get signal out to my new LG smart tv. I can now get on the web. The signal in the house was ok for laptop but my smart tv would not hook up before.

We had just got an addition put on our house and the new computer room was too far away for me to pick up a decent WIFI signal. This one is very relaible only took a few minutes to set up and boosts the signal wonderfully. I would reccomend this to anyone who needs to get a better signal.

The idea of "plug and play" as described do not work. You plug the unit in and push the buttons and directed - the connection appears in wifi network but drops as soon as you try to connect. 3 hours later - we still can't use it and all of the "fixes" are INVOLVED! Totally defeats the purpose of ease of use and quick set up! I am not novice on IT stuff....consider myself intermediate. But this system is just unreliable and inconsistent!

Need stronger adsl wifi signal for guest network in 2nd building. Furthest access is about 125' away from extender. Two exterior walls with aluminum gutters & flashing, plus several lath and plaster interior walls are interposed. Signal was zero to 2 bars and slow. Now it's 5 bars everywhere and zippy fast!! (maybe should have started with a stronger gateway?)

Setup was no problem because gateway in 1st building is NetGear N300. Plug the extender into a 110volt receptacle in 1st building, push the secure connect button on each device. Extender is working to boost both prime and guest networks. Both remain WPA secured.

I mistakenly pressed the wifi button instead of the secure connect on the gateway which set the prime network to defaults. I accessed the modem via ethernet and restored the prime network settings. Guest network did not change. It all works as expected.

If the connection is constant, all is good. I will down-rate if the connection fails or device overheats, etc.

I am a home office Regional Sales Manager. When my company gave me an updated Dell PC, my D-Link wireless router just was not strong enough to establish a healthy usable link.

I did a fair amount of web research and chose the Netgear unit because of it's compact size, plug-in utility and promise of universal communication. It delivered on all of those.

As others have noted the documentation was rather sparse. I actually had to hard-connect my pc to the extender to do the setup routine, and having done so, it worked flawlessly. I am familiar with wireless routers and their setup...a newbie probably would stumble over this one.

I will update after a few weeks of use, but as of today I have a speedy, solid connection - the best I have had since I moved into that corner office on my 2nd floor.

I'm about to go and buy my 2nd Netgear WiFi Range Extender...they work incredibly well and I'm going to add another in my house ..Use wifi for everything, MacBook Pro, iPhone, iPad..the walls in the house blocked everything until I bought the Netgear!

It regularly drops the signal. Waste of time.

This thing works for about 10 minutes at a time, then drops the signal. It does not matter how close to the router you put it, or how close your computer is to this device. Lots of others report the same behavior - check Netgear's support site. I'll be taking it back to the store tomorrow.
