I purchased this weather forecaster less than seven months ago. I used it to check temperature and humidity levels before I run outdoors. Last week the outdoor information stopped displaying. Interior information still shows. I changed the batteries in both the outdoor sensor and the interior unit(even though they are all testing as still being good) and went through the specified preset steps. Still nothing. I then took it back to the Radio Shack from which I had bought it. There is no warranty information listed in the documentation for good reason. There is no warranty. I was told that since I had not purchased a warranty when I bought the unit, there is no coverage. Don't buy one of these. I've learned a valuable lesson about Radio Shack quality/warranty/customer service and will not be purchasing anything else from them in the future.

Rip off, bought this one as it could have 3 extra sensors - and they do not sell them?! Never another Radio Shack product. On top of that, my remote sensor is way off, have reset it and base station but remote show 11% more humidity then base even when sitting next to each other, temp is also of by .5 F (not big deal) but which of the humidity can I trust?

The outdoor sensor quit working after a short amout of time. I replaced the battery in both the remote sensor and the base unit, as well as making sure they were on the same channel. Unit will not show outside temperature, which is the feature i really wanted this unit for. Went to Radio Shack to purchase a new remote and was told they are not available for sale. What a rip off. Very misleading advertising that base unit can read up to 3 remote sensors. Very disapponted with this reality and service from Radio Shack. Don't waste your time or money on this unit. If the sensor quits working, you are dead in the water.

On problem of remotes, this is same unit as Oregon Scientific BAR208HGA. Remotes can be purchased there. I have an older version of this unit {RS 63-1026 with remote equivalent of OregScien THC268) and it works great. Long battery life. Remotes need Li batteries to work in winter.
Can use more than one main display with 1-3 remotes. Great for one display in the Kitchen and one in the Bedroom, for example. Another way to get around no remotes is to buy 3 units. All three remotes will display on all three main units, which can be placed in different areas of house.

I bought this unit for the RV. I have a weather radio, but I wanted something I could tell at a glance what the outside temperature and humidity were, and what the forecast was based on the changes in barometric pressure without cute kiddie icons of kids with raincoats on. Not sure what everyone is saying about a lack of a manual since mine came with a manual and a quick set up guide. It literally took me less than 5 minutes to set up and it works great! Gives me all the information I need quickly. Granted it only comes with one sensor, but I only need to know indoor and outdoor information, not what the temperature is in the bathroom and the living area. It was on sale, too! I highly recommend this unit.

Radio Shack takes a potentially great product and reduces it to a mediocre and troublesome item to use. Lack of any real good manual either printed or online, and no troubleshooting help.
(One tip, when you lose the outdoor sensor even after putting a new battery in it, replace the batteries in the indoor unit....RS neglects to mention that little quirk).
Oh....and want either a second or replacement outdoor sensor..? Good Luck! There is no listing for one nor any information on how to obtain one. Makes the base station's ability to monitor 3 frequencies pretty useless, no?
This should be a simple indoor/outdoor thermometer, unfortunately it becomes more trouble than its worth

What a great little Weather Station. I use it in the house and have a sensor outside and one in the shop. I can see how cold it is in the shop before i go out there. That way i have a heads up to take wood for the wood stove out there. I feal this is a great little item from radio shack.

1. The base unit can accommodate up to two extra sensors (three in total). However, the extra sensors are not available for purchase. This is really strange and, because of that, I found the info (about the extra sensors) misleading. I wouldn't buy it if I knew.

2. Two identical base units placed next to each other display different indoor temperature. It is a small difference, 1.5F. Nevertheless, it brings the accuracy question.

3. The icing blinking (thus annoying) indicator cannot be turned off.

4. Color of the background light is not exactly an eye candy. I wish it has the bright color of the blinking indicator.

Summing up, it's kind of negative, but it is what it is, sorry.
