Cons Best Uses Comments about RadioShack® In-Line Signal Amplifier: Allows us to see digital TV clearly without break-up. In Northern VA, now receiving more than 50 HD channels from as far away as Baltimore. Why pay for cable?

Comments about RadioShack® In-Line Signal Amplifier: I tried at least 20 different types of boosters and this is by far the best and easiest. Wireless no need to run power to this one. Put one at the antenna end and the other at your TV or splitter. Plug it in the same place you plug in your TV and that is it. If you are still having problems add the rotor to the antenna.
Pros Cons Best Uses Comments about RadioShack® In-Line Signal Amplifier: Installed per instructions, didn't improve my reception.
Comments about RadioShack® In-Line Signal Amplifier: We are about 50-60 miles from TV stations and needed a little extra boost to keep weak stations from going in and out. Not only did the booster accomplish this but also brought in a few more stations. Comments about RadioShack® In-Line Signal Amplifier: I had only 7 stations. After installation, I had 0 stations. I think this system may not be compatible with Digital Converter boxes. It hooked up easily, but I suspect the output drive was too much for the converter box to handle. Also, the 4 dB noise figure is not much to shout about; doubles the noise out???? Other possibility is that large FM signal in my area may be swamping the amplifier's dynamic range. Best Uses Comments about RadioShack® In-Line Signal Amplifier: The instructions for this amplifier are practically useless. It appears that although I followed exactly what they say, I've destroyed a rather expensive antenna. It wasn't until I read another reviewer's comment explaining that the instructions IN the box are wrong and the ones on the OUTSIDE of the box are correct that I had the courage to try it with another antenna. So far, the performance has been pretty good, though I'm scared to touch anything for fear of damaging something else. I would recommend the product with one caveat: only if they rewrite the instructions! Otherwise, tread carefully. Pros

Comments about RadioShack® In-Line Signal Amplifier: This device did the trick for us and increased all signals so we can watch HDTV over our open air antenna (except ABC, terrible signal strength in our area). It was easy to install and our directions (unlike those above) were correct. Really impressed with this device. Can't say the same about the RS Associate Store Manager who helped me with this however. This is a two part device and he told me the amplifier was optional to install! That I didn't have to have it or need it! Uh, it won't amplify the signal without the "amplifier" genius. What is scary is that this guys is a store manager, and he wasn't the most chipper bloke in the world. RS needs to hire geeks that understand what they sell. Pros

Comments about RadioShack® In-Line Signal Amplifier: It has a lot of potential. It has a good amt of gain. With 2 pieces it can be used in several situations but it's easy to get something connected backwards. In fact, the inside instructions show the 2 pieces connected backwards. The instructions on the outside of the packing are right. It's somewhat intuitive so as I was assembling per the internal instructions it seemed backwards to me but I pushed on & didn't work. I noticed the other instructions & got it right. Since this is for my elderly aunt & I won't always be available to take it apart & put it back together, I returned it & got a one piece amp to keep it simple. If you know what you're doing, there's little chance of trouble. All my friends know what they're doing. If you're not sure, consider a 1 piece amp. Radio Shack used to sell several types but I couldn't find them anymore. Try Best Buy Rocketfish amps. Displaying reviews 1-9 |
