SWEEPSTAKES PERIOD: The RadioShack Katana Sweepstakes ("the Sweepstakes") game period begins at 12:00:00 a.m. CST on 8/20/2006 and ends at 11:59:59 p.m. CST on 9/2/06 (the "Sweepstakes Period"). The computer of RadioShack Corporation is the official timekeeping device of the Sweepstakes game. 2. HOW TO ENTER: Complete and submit the online entry form at www.radioshack.com/katana during the Sweepstakes period. Limit one entry per e-mail address. No responsibility is assumed for lost, late or misdirected entries. 3. SWEEPSTAKES PRIZE: Grand Prize: One (1) Grand Prize Winner will be selected from all eligible entries received, in a random drawing on 9/12/06. The Sweepstakes Grand Prize includes one (1) trip for two to New York City. (Trip includes: Roundtrip airfare for two (2) from the closest major airport nearest winner's residence; three (3) night hotel stay, and $1,000.00 spending cash). Approximate retail value $4,900. Actual value depends on location of winner's residence. Any difference between stated approximate value and actual value of Sweepstakes Grand Prize will not be awarded. First Prize: Five (5) First Prize Winners: Sanyo Z3 home theater system, estimated value $1,899.00. Winners are responsible for all taxes and will receive an IRS Form 1099. SWEEPSTAKES DRAWING: Odds of winning any prize will depend upon the number of eligible entries received. Drawings will be conducted by an independent judging agency whose decisions in all respects shall be final and binding. All entries drawn are subject to verification. Entries that are incomplete or noncompliant with these rules will be void. Limit one prize per person. 5. SWEEPSTAKES NOTIFICATION: Winners will be notified via e-mail at the e-mail address provided with entry. Potential Sweepstakes Grand Prize Winner must reply to phone number listed in e-mail within 48 hours of e-mail being sent to claim their prize and will be asked to submit a U.S. mailing address for mailing of Prize Documents and the prize. Winners will be required to return a signed Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability Release and other required prize acceptance documents ("Prize Documents") for verification by the due date specified by Sponsor in the Prize Documents. Potential Grand Prize Sweepstakes Winner will automatically forfeit all right, claim and interest in or to a Sweepstakes Prize and Sponsor shall have no liability or responsibility to award any prize if: (a) any required Prize Documents are not fully executed and received by Sponsor at the designated address by the due date specified in Prize Documents; or (b) if any mail addressed to participant is returned to Sponsor as undeliverable without a forwarding address or if potential Sweepstakes Winner cannot be contacted for any reason; or (c) potential Winner is deemed ineligible or otherwise non-compliant with any aspect of these Official Rules. No substitution or transfer of Sweepstakes prize permitted. 6. ELIGIBILITY: Sweepstakes open only to legal United States residents, residing within the fifty (50) United States or District of Columbia, age 18 or over throughout the Sweepstakes Period. Void elsewhere and where prohibited by law, and in Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands, and U.S. military installations located in a foreign country. Employees of the Sponsor, Sanyo North America Corporation and each of their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, governors, employees, distributors, advertising agencies, agents, promotional or judging agencies or other parties involved in any aspect with the creation, production, operation, execution and fulfillment of the Sweepstakes (collectively, "Sponsor and its Administrators") and their immediate family members (parent, child, sibling or spouse of any of the foregoing) and household members of such individuals (whether related or not) are not eligible to enter or win the Sweepstakes. 7. GENERAL CONDITIONS: By entering, participants: (a) agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of Sponsor and its Administrators whose decisions in all aspects of this Sweepstakes shall be final and binding; (b) grant to the Sponsor, Sanyo North America Corporation and each of their advertising agencies, promotional agencies and agents the unconditional and irrevocable right, without any further compensation, to use, in any medium now known or hereinafter known at any time throughout the world, the following: (i) their proper name, geographic location, image, likeness, voice, biographical information and/or prize information worldwide for advertising, publicity, trade and public relations purposes, to the extent permitted by law; and (ii) Sweepstakes winners will be required to confirm such consent in writing by executing appropriate releases required by Sponsor and its Administrators; (c) agree to release, hold harmless and indemnify Sponsor, and Administrator against any and all liability, claims, damages, or causes of action (however named or described), with respect to or arising out of: (i) entrant's and his/her guests participating in the promotion; and (ii) the receipt or use of the prize awarded herein. 8. INTERNET ACCOUNT HOLDER IDENTITY: All valid online entries submitted will be associated with the name of the holder of the e-mail address used at the time of the entry submission. In the event of dispute regarding the identity of the holder of the e-mail address, dispute will be resolved in favor of the individual who is both the authorized holder of the e-mail address and password associated with the Account (based upon information submitted at the time the Account was created or updated upon registration for this Sweepstakes). "Authorized e-mail account holder" is defined as the natural person assigned an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, online service provider, or other organization (i.e., business, education institution) responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. If there is a discrepancy between the name of the person listed as the "authorized holder of the e-mail account" and the "authorized e-mail account holder," the entry will be disqualified and an alternate potential Winner will be selected. Potential Sweepstakes Winner may be required to provide proof that he/she is the authorized Account holder as described above. 9. LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY: No responsibility or liability is assumed by the Sponsor and its Administrators for technical problems or malfunctions arising in connection with any of the following occurrences which may affect the operation of the computer: hardware or software errors; faulty computer, telephone, cable, satellite, network, electronic, wireless or Internet connectivity or other online communication problems; errors or limitations of any Internet service providers, servers or hosts; garbled, jumbled or faulty data transmissions; failure of any e-mail transmissions to be sent or received; lost, late, delayed or intercepted e-mail transmissions; inaccessibility of the Website in whole or in part for any reason; traffic congestion on the Internet or Website; unauthorized human or non-human intervention of the operation of the Sweepstakes, including without limitation, unauthorized tampering, hacking, theft, virus, bugs, worms; or destruction of any aspect of the Sweepstakes, or loss, miscount, misdirection, inaccessibility or unavailability of an Account used in connection with the Sweepstakes. Sponsor and its Administrators are not responsible for any typographical errors in the announcement of prizes or these Official Rules, or any inaccurate or incorrect data contained on the Website, including without limitation, the number of entries received in any particular Account, or any personal injury or property damage or losses of any kind which may be sustained to user's or any other person's computer equipment resulting from participation in the Sweepstakes, or use of or download of any information from the Website. Use of Website is at user's own risk. Without limiting the foregoing, everything on the Website is provided "as is" without any warranty of any kind, either expressed or implied, including but not limited to, the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. 10. MODIFICATION: Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to modify, cancel, postpone, delay, suspend and/or terminate this Sweepstakes in whole or in part in the event that the Sweepstakes is not capable of running as planned or as intended by these Official Rules by reason of any of the technical or other disabling causes as described in Rule 9 or other causes that, in the sole discretion of the Sponsor, impair, corrupt or interrupt the administration, fairness, security or integrity or proper play of the Sweepstakes, including without limitation hurricane, fire, flood, epidemic, earthquake, explosion, labor dispute or strike, act of God or public enemy, war, terrorist threat or activity or insurrection. In such event, Sponsor may, at its sole discretion: (a) postpone and/or reschedule and/or modify the Sweepstakes, or (b) cancel the Sweepstakes in its entirety. In the event of cancellation, Sponsor shall award the Sweepstakes Prize (or a prize of substantially similar value), through a process deemed fair and equitable by Sponsor, and Sponsor shall have no further liability to any participant in connection with the Sweepstakes. 11. CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION: This Sweepstakes is governed by laws of the United States, all entrants hereby submit to the jurisdiction and venue of Fort Worth, Texas for resolution of all claims and disputes. All Sweepstakes-related activity at the Website is governed by the RadioShack Privacy Policy, located at http://www.radioshack.com.images/site-legal/rsprivacy.asp?Site=radioshack. 12. WINNERS LIST: Winners' first name, last initial and home city/state will be posted on RadioShack's website after the Winners have been notified and their eligibility confirmed.
